Aaron Rodgers has appeared on The Pat McAfee Show a day after the host said he would not appear there for the rest of the NFL season.
Rodgers sparked outrage when he recently suggested that Jimmy Kimmel could be named to Jeffrey Epstein’s list of associates during his weekly Tuesday appearance.
The uproar led to McAfee announcing on Wednesday this week that Rodgers would not appear on the show again for the rest of the NFL season – a decision that took just 24 hours.
Jets quarterback Rodgers, 40, made a brief appearance at what he described as a “forest retreat” to discuss Bill Belichick leaving the New England Patriots after 24 years.
McAfee introduced Rodgers by saying, “Joining us now to chat to talk about huge names who left amicably at a very, very high level is a four-time NFL MVP and a guy who is a Super Bowl champion .
Aaron Rodgers made a surprising comeback on Pat McAfee’s show on Thursday afternoon
“Ladies and gentlemen, the last man Bill Belichick spoke to on the field as head coach of the New England Patriots, Aaron Rodgers.”
Rodgers said he couldn’t see McAfee on his own video link because he was in the woods and “the offseason has started.”
Rodgers stuck to football in a shorter appearance than his usual hour. Last week, after Rodgers made his claims about Kimmel, the comedian responded, threatening legal action and demanding an apology.
In his regular Tuesday slot, Rodgers made no apology this week and McAfee said a day later that this was the end of his time on the show for the remainder of the NFL season.
Richard Deitsch of The Athletic revealed for the first time on Wednesday that the decision was made by McAfee himself, as he has “creative control and control over the guest booking.” ESPN would also support his call.
And the New York Post reported that Rodgers was scheduled to appear in the Super Bowl next month, before his feud with Kimmel forced McAfee to end his weekly segments earlier than expected.
But it appears McAfee has now sprung a surprise by bringing Rodgers back for a brief appearance so quickly.
The list Rodgers was referring to is a 2015 civil defamation lawsuit filed against the late millionaire Epstein.

The statement was publicly revealed for the first time this month and includes the names of many alleged Epstein clients, who are accused of having sexual intercourse with underage girls.
Kimmel was not named in the statement, he has maintained his innocence and there are no credible allegations against him.
But despite his clear suggestion to the contrary, Rodgers denied the link between Kimmel and Epstein, telling McAfee on Tuesday that he is being canceled by the mainstream media: “This is the media’s game plan, and this is what they do.” They’re trying to cancel, you know? And it’s not just me.’
