Rodgers’ new beginning with the Jets lasted just four starts before coming to a sudden and violent end.

After his offensive line buckled under the constant pressure of the Bills pass rush, Leonard reached Floyd Rodgers in the backfield.

Rodgers’ foot became stuck in the artificial turf at MetLife Stadium and his Achilles tendon ruptured, requiring the QB to be helped off the field and then wheeled to the locker room.

After further evaluation by team physicians and an MRI, he was diagnosed with an Achilles rupture, ending his season.

Now the Jets find themselves in an unenviable position: Barring a major acquisition, they will have to return to Zach Wilson as their full-time starting quarterback.

Wilson threw for just 1,688 yards in nine games for the Jets last season while leading a wildly inconsistent offense in New York.

Things won’t get any better for the Jets when they travel to Dallas to take on the Cowboys on Sunday.
