Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers admits he's far from ready to return to the field, but New York's signal caller still hasn't made a decision about playing this year.

Rodgers, who turns 40 this weekend, was targeting a possible return on Christmas Eve against the Washington Commanders, just three and a half months after undergoing surgery for a ruptured Achilles tendon.

Rodgers took further steps in his recovery this week when he returned to training on a limited basis after being cleared for 'functional football activities'.

“Anything is possible,” Rodgers said Thursday. “It feels great to be on the practice field, but I'm still far from ready to play.”

Along with how his Achilles tendon continues to heal, Rodgers also confirmed that his return to the field will depend on whether the Jets are still in the playoffs when the season comes to an end.
