Without issuing an apology, Aaron Rodgers responded to the uproar over his recent comments from Jimmy Kimmel by denying that he was suggesting the comedian had anything to fear with the release of the Jeffrey Epstein papers.
“I completely understand how serious an allegation of pedophilia would be … so if he was upset about that, I understand,” Rodgers told Pat McAfee on Tuesday’s episode of the ESPN talk show.
“I’m not stupid enough to accuse you of that without any evidence, concrete evidence,” Rodgers continued. ‘That is ridiculous. I’m glad, and I think we can agree on something, which is that 1: these crimes are heinous and 2: I’m glad you’re not on the list.”
A week earlier, Rodgers told McAfee, “There are a lot of people, including Jimmy Kimmel, who are hoping that list doesn’t come to fruition.”
The Epstein List Rodgers referred to is a 2015 civil defamation lawsuit against Jeffrey Epstein. The statement was publicly revealed for the first time this month and includes the names of many alleged Epstein clients, who are accused of having intercourse with underage girls. Kimmel was not mentioned in the statement.

Kimmel launched a blistering attack on the footballer with the ‘hamster brain’ on Monday
“I’m glad Jimmy’s not on the list, I really am, I don’t think he’s the P-word,” Rodgers said.
“I don’t give a shit about what he says about me, but as long as he understands what I actually said, that I’m not accusing him of being on a list, I’m all for moving on.
“I hope he will devote the same energy to these heinous crimes when they come out, as you do to other issues you have spent a lot of time on.”
On Monday, Kimmel responded by launching a blistering attack on the “hamster brain” footballer as he demanded an apology for his comments.
Kimmel said, “When I do something wrong, which rarely happens, you know what I do? I apologize for this, and that’s what Aaron Rodgers should do.
“That’s what a decent person would do. But I bet that won’t be the case. If he does, I’ll accept his apology and move on. But I suspect he won’t apologize. I hope I’m wrong.’
The 56-year-old comedian added: ‘Aaron got two A’s on his report card, they were both in the word Aaron.
“Can you imagine this guy with the hamster brain thinking he knows what the government is up to because he’s a quarterback who researches on YouTube and listens to podcasts.”
The late-night TV host angrily hit out at X, saying Rodgers’ claims ‘put my family in danger’
Kimmel capped his seven-minute roast with a dig at Rodgers’ first season in New York.
The quarterback tore his Achilles tendon four times in the disappointing 2023 season as the Jets failed to reach the postseason.
“I also want to extend my congratulations to Aaron Rodgers, who has done the impossible,” Kimmel said. “He made the New York Jets look even worse.”
Kimmel also threatened to sue Rodgers, saying, “When you hear someone who won a Super Bowl and did all the State Farm commercials say something like this, a lot of people believe him.
“Many delusional people honestly believe that I meet Tom Hanks and Oprah once a week at Shakey’s (Pizza) to eat pizza and drink the blood of children.”
