Aaron Rodgers accused the New York Jets of “giving away” their game against the Bills because of “terrible” on-field deficiencies.
New York suffered a 23-20 loss at home to Buffalo on Monday night, with Rodgers throwing a valuable interception late at MetLife Stadium.
It was the Jets’ first game since the firing of head coach Robert Saleh, but their season went from bad to worse under new interim boss Jeff Ulbrich.
Despite both Rodgers (passing) and Breece Hall (rushing) putting up season-best stats, the Jets only scored 20 points.
New York reached the red zone four times but converted just once, with Rodgers not landing a single punch where the game was lost.

The quarterback admitted there were “concerns” about the Jets’ prospects this season with New York sitting at 2-4, but he emphasized that “that’s important.” We have to get started.”
Rodgers said: ‘This was a golden opportunity. Some games you win in the NFL, some games you give away. This was a competition.
“We were terrible in the red zone. We missed two field goals, we didn’t convert on a two-minute drive.
‘We’ve had enough chances. We had the momentum. We had good drives, we moved the ball back and forth across the field, so it’s disappointing.”
The Bills now have a two-win lead over both the Jets and Dolphins in the AFC East.
