Aaron Rodgers has accused Giants linebacker Jihad Ward of “making it up” after the pass rusher said the quarterback and teammate Randall Cobb made fun of one of his fellow Giants.

Cobb put a blindside block on the Giants’ Bobby McCain in the Jets’ 32–24 victory over their New York rivals, and the hit left the cornerback concussed.

Ward, who collided with Rodgers during the game, said afterwards that he was angry because Rodgers and Cobb laughed at the hit on McCain. But Rodgers said that never happened.

“So he thought we were laughing at his teammate?” Rodgers told reporters Thursday via the New York Post. “That never happened and I think he’s making something up.”

Rodgers and Ward exchanged words last weekend when the latter hit the quarterback late.

The pair chirped at each other before Aaron Rodgers said ‘I don’t even know who you are’

As captured on MAX’s Hard Knocks, Rodgers said after the play, “Those are f****** bulls***, bro. What the hell is that? Show some respect.’

The four-time MVP pushed Ward back and said, “I don’t even know who you are, brother.” Ward replied with “I don’t know who you are,” before the pair finally broke up.

On Wednesday, Ward claimed that ‘Hard Knocks’ had not shown the full picture of what had happened.

“There’s a reason I acted this way from the start,” Ward told reporters.

Jets quarterback Rodgers objected to this late push from Giants’ LB Jihad Ward

“There’s a reason I pushed him like that. The reason why is that I don’t get dropped by my motherfucking teammates. And Randall – what’s his name? – Randall Cobb? He knew what he was doing.

“They knew what they were doing, they laughed and everything,” Ward continued. “They know what they did, I know what he did, the coaches know what he did, my teammates know what he did. I’m the only one standing up for (McCain).

“They’re going to entertain, they’re going to show his part, HBO. They weren’t even involved in the whole scenario of what actually happened, so they’re going to show his side of the story and make me look like a dork. But I’m not going for that.’

The Jets and Giants meet during Week 8 on October 29, and some more excitement has now been added to an already anticipated game.
