Aaron Rodgers’ 10 handicap branded ‘absolute C**P’ by PGA’s Keith Mitchell after Pebble Beach win

The PGA Tour’s Keith Mitchell rated Aaron Rodgers playing with a 10 handicap ‘c**p outright’ after the Packers quarterback won the Pebble Beach Pro-Am in California over the weekend.

Rodgers, competing alongside Canadian Ben Silverman, earned a one-stroke victory over Peter Malnati and Don Colleran. Mitchell and Josh Allen, the Buffalo Bills quarterback, were four shots behind at the end.

Rodgers is registered with a three handicap at his home course – Green Bay Country Club – according to Sports Illustratedbut all players received a boost to take into account the nature of the course.

Mitchell was asked about qualifying on Sunday, when he and Allen were a shot behind Rodgers and bad weather prevented them from completing their third round, raising fears it could curtail the Pro-Am.

Rodgers played with a 10 handicap, but is listed as a 3 at his home course in Green Bay.

Meanwhile, Rodgers was delighted with his victory and had said that he had not played golf once during football season and that the last time he had picked up a golf club was in July.

‘It’s really significant. It’s always been on my wish list,” said Rodgers, who has played the event nine times.

“I played in Tahoe for 18 years and never sniffed higher than eighth. But I felt good about the association this week. Ben is a great guy. He knew we were going to have fun.

It appears that golf was a welcome distraction for Rodgers as he considers his next move in soccer.

The Packers failed to make the playoffs after a final-day loss to the Detroit Lions and Rodgers, 39, said afterward that he was weighing whether to retire.

Word has since emerged that the Packers would be open to trading Rodgers if he keeps playing.

If Rodgers retires, it would be another huge blow to the sport after he was canceled by Tom Brady last week.

Rodgers is currently considering his football future after the Packers failed to make the playoffs.

The 39-year-old hinted that he might retire after the Packers’ loss to the Detroit Lions.
