Aaron Hall has come under scrutiny for the lyrics in his 1992 song Don’t Be Afraid.
The 59-year-old singer, together with rapper Diddy, is accused of raping a woman in the early 1990s.
Diddy was sued in New York County Superior Court by an anonymous woman who alleged that he and Aaron took turns raping her and a friend in 1990 or 1991. Rolling stone reported on Friday.
Jane Doe also claims in her lawsuit that Diddy later visited her after the alleged rape and strangled her out of fear that her boyfriend would tell his then-girlfriend about the assault.
The lyrics of Aaron’s song Don’t Be Afraid are now being reassessed in the wake of the trial.

The song includes a verse where Aaron sings about having a woman “all to myself” with the doors “locked” and her “not having to run.”
He sings, “Now I got you all to myself/ You can put all the other boys all on the shelf/
“You don’t have to run and you don’t have to hide/ All the doors are locked, baby and I got you inside/ You can scream and you can hit me/ It just makes me horny.”
The song resurfaced on X/Twitter in the wake of the lawsuit, with many fans commenting on the lyrics.

Hall rose to fame in 1988 as a member of the R&B group Guy, selling more than a million copies of their debut album. He also released three solo albums, with varying degrees of success.

The news comes shortly after Diddy was sued by a second woman, who alleged he drugged and sexually assaulted her while she was still in college in 1991.
In a statement to DailyMail.com shared by his spokesperson, Combs vehemently denied the allegations mentioned in the lawsuit, describing it as a “cash grab.”
“These are fabricated claims alleging misconduct dating back more than 30 years and filed at the last minute. This is nothing but a money grab,” his spokesman said. “Mr. Combs’ fame and success makes him an easy target for anonymous accusers who lie for financial gain without conscience or consequence.
They further asserted that “the New York Legislature certainly did not intend or expect that the Adult Survivors Act would be exploited by fraudsters,” adding, “The public should be skeptical and not hastily accept these false allegations.”
He previously reached a settlement after just one day in a lawsuit filed by his ex-girlfriend, the R&B singer Cassie, although the terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
The settlement was made possible by the Adult Survivors Act, a New York law that expired on Thursday.
The law, which went into effect on November 24, 2022, allowed adult survivors of sexual abuse to file lawsuits for one year, regardless of whether the statute of limitations on their claim had already expired.
In her lawsuit, Jane Doe claims she met Diddy and Hall at an Uptown Records party held at the company’s New York office and hosted by its distributor, MCA Records.
“Combs and Hall were very flirtatious and handsy with Jane Doe and her friend, offering them drinks throughout the night,” the filing says.
As the party neared its end, Diddy and Hall invited the woman and her friend back to Hall to continue the party.
“While at Hall’s apartment, Jane Doe was offered more drinks and forced to have sex with Combs,” the lawsuit alleges. “After Combs finished his business, Jane Doe lay in bed, shocked and traumatized. While she was getting dressed, Hall burst into the room, held her down and forced Jane Doe to have sex with him.”
The woman then claims she quickly got dressed and left Hall’s home.

Double collusion: Woman claims she and a friend went to Aaron Hall’s house after a record label party, where Diddy and Hall took turns raping her; seen on September 15 in NYC
In the lawsuit, she claims she later contacted her girlfriend, who told her she was “forced to have sex with Combs and Hall in another room.”
“When Combs was done with Jane Doe, he and Hall moved on based on information and belief,” the filing says.
But the woman’s alleged issues with Diddy weren’t over yet. She claims that days after the alleged rape, he came to the house where she was staying with her friend and then attacked her.
“He was enraged and began assaulting and choking Jane Doe to the point that she passed out,” the complaint alleges. “Combs was looking for Jane Doe’s boyfriend because he was afraid she would tell the girl he was with at the time what he and Hall had done to them.”
In addition to Combs and Hall, the woman is suing both MCA Music Entertainment and Geffen Records.
As evidence of her claims, Jane Doe’s lawsuit notes that she “informed her close friends and family about what had happened,” although it is unclear when she claims to have shared that information.
She also claims that she has sought some form of medical treatment “to heal from the trauma that Combs and Hall inflicted on her.”
The lawsuit against the unnamed woman follows two previous lawsuits against Diddy.
On November 16, his ex-girlfriend, the singer Cassie, sued him for rape and physical abuse, alleging that the rapper not only raped her, but also used drugs and forced her to have sex with male prostitutes while he filmed them.
He decided to quickly settle with his ex after just a day, and a judge subsequently dismissed the lawsuit.

Three strikes: The lawsuit follows another rape case from his ex Cassie, which he settled after one day, and a newer lawsuit from Joi Dickerson-Neal, who claims Diddy drugged her and then sexually assaulted her during the filming of the deed. He denied her claim; seen with Cassie in 2012 in LA
It was reported on Thursday that a second woman had sued the music mogul.
Joi Dickerson-Neal, who says she was a student at Syracuse University in 1991, claims Diddy slipped something into her drink and then sexually assaulted her and filmed the act.
She also claims that Combs then shared the video widely with people in his social circle.
Diddy denied the accusation through a representative, calling it “fabricated and not credible” and a “money theft.”
