Aaron Carter’s on-off fiancée Melanie Martin regains full custody of pair’s baby son Prince

Aaron Carter’s on-and-off fiancée Melanie Martin has regained full custody of their son Prince, one month after the singer’s tragic death at age 34.

Prince, who was born in November 2021, was placed in the care of Melanie’s mother when he was a few months old, and Carter was granted supervised visitation rights.

TMZ reports that Martin, 35, was found fit to care for her son at a hearing Thursday in Los Angeles, and was awarded full custody.

Martin is currently in New York with Carter’s friend, rapper Checkthestar, but was tipped off by his legal team. He now returns to California to pick up his son.

Earlier this year, Carter filed for custody of their son and a petition for protection against Martin in the Antelope Valley courthouse in Los Angeles County.

In a court filing, he accused his ex of “emotional distress, shoving and scratching” and claimed that she used the threat of suicide to “emotionally” abuse him.

I Want Candy singer Aaron was found dead in his bathtub at his Lancaster, California home on November 5, with his manner of death still unconfirmed, pending toxicology results.

This comes amid claims that Carter’s family is allegedly trying to heal a rift after his mother blamed the singer’s fiancée for his death.

In a series of now-deleted tweets from November 28, Jane Schneck accused her partner Melanie Martin, 30, of berating their late son for money and profiting from his death. She began the messages: “My baby is dead,” before adding: “I’ve been warning you for two years. She almost made it home.

But now Jane is trying to make amends with Melanie, it has been claimed.

Aaron began dating Melanie in 2020 and got engaged in June of the same year, before having their son, Prince, in November 2021.

They were living apart when the singer was found dead in the bathtub of his California home at age 34 on November 5. It is said that his mother, Jane, never knew her son.

According to TMZ, Melanie has said that she and Jane had a “pretty good relationship” before Aaron died and she didn’t hold her tweets against him. She also reportedly said that an aide to Aaron’s twin sister, Angel, reached out to apologize for Jane’s messages, saying they had been deleted.

Aaron’s family will hold a private memorial service for the singer in 2023, when they will reportedly scatter his ashes. Melanie said that she has been invited to the ceremony and still wants Jane to meet Aaron’s son Prince after Christmas.

TMZ also reported that Jane doesn’t want a war with Melanie and wants what’s best for her grandson. It comes after Aaron’s family said he wants his son to inherit his estate.

The late singer’s mother told TMZ that she has yet to meet her 12-month-old grandson, Prince. She wants him to be the beneficiary of her father’s assets since the family “doesn’t need the money.”

Jane added that she wants to be in a relationship with her grandson and Aaron’s on-again-off-again fiancée Melanie, who currently has custody of the boy.

After Aaron was found dead, his mother is said to have asked Aaron’s twin angel to petition to serve as trustee of his estate, believed to be worth $500,000.

Melanie told Us Weekly of the financial arrangements: ‘I don’t want any trouble or stress over Aaron’s inheritance. I just want Prince to be taken care of and Aaron’s legacy to live on… whoever wants to be in Prince’s life can be in Prince’s life.’

Aaron’s cause of death has yet to be determined, pending toxicology results.

But the singer, who battled addiction and mental health problems for years, was found with pills and canisters of compressed air near his body.

His brother, Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter, 42, who faces accusations of sexual assault by four women, said it was “difficult” performing on stage the day after Aaron was found dead.
