Aaron Carter ‘had an obsession’ with estranged brother Nick Carter before tragic death

Aaron Carter “had an obsession” with estranged brother Nick and “looked up to him” despite their feud before his death at age 34, a friend has claimed.

Police confirmed that Aaron, the brother of Nick of the Backstreet Boys, 42, had drowned in his bathtub over the weekend — with law enforcement sources telling TMZ there were prescription pills and cans of compressed air in his bathroom.

Aaron’s relationship with Nick had fizzled out over the years, culminating in a restraining order filed against him by his older brother, but Gary Madatyan, a friend of the Fools Gold hitmaker, said the star kept a close eye on his sibling. kept an eye out.

Gary said it “broke his heart” that there was no one for Aaron and that he had tried in vain to help his friend “get on the right track.” He also claimed that the star was concerned about his finances.

He added: ‘I said to him, ‘Look, I don’t like this. I love you so much and will do anything for you, but let me help you. This is not okay, brother. right way with your life.”‘

In the wake of his death, Aaron’s rep said he and Nick were working to resolve their differences before the tragedy.

In 2019, Nick filed a restraining order against Aaron for allegedly threatening to kill his pregnant wife and unborn child.

“After careful consideration, my sister Angel and I regret having had to file a restraining order against our brother Aaron today,” Nick wrote at the time. “We had no choice but to take every possible measure to protect ourselves and our families.”

He added that he still loved Aaron and hoped he would “get the proper treatment he needs before he or anyone else is harmed.”

Aaron responded to the restraining order at the time by tweeting, “So my brother just got a restraining order against me. And I just got served lol.’

‘Be careful. @NickCarter we are ready for life,” he continued. ‘I haven’t seen him in four years. And I’m not going to… I’m stunned by the accusations being leveled against me, and I don’t wish harm on anyone, especially my family.”

Nick posted several throwback photos of them together after Aaron’s death was announced, writing that his heart was broken despite their complicated relationship, adding that his love for Aaron never faded.

Nick went on to write that he had “held hope” that his brother would “one day want to walk a healthy path and eventually find the help he so desperately needed,” but added that although it was “easy is to blame someone or something for loss,” he wrote that “addiction and mental illness is the real villain here.”

Aaron’s twin sister Angel Conrad also posted on Instagram a heartfelt tribute to her brother after his death.

She said: ‘I loved you very much.. You will be missed very much. My funny, sweet Aaron, I have so many memories of you and me, and I promise to cherish them.

“I know you’re at peace now. I will carry you with me until the day I die and see you again.’

His manager revealed that the singer was working on a new album in an effort to reconnect with his brother Nick.

The new album, Blacklisted, was released two days after his death.

Carter’s manager Taylor Helgeson said: TMZ the singer believed the music he was working on was some of his best to date.

The studio album would be released on December 7, which would mark Carter’s 35th birthday.

His fiancé Melanie Martin’s mother is currently caring for their son Prince, who is just 11 months old.

The last album Carter released before his death was LØVË from 2018.

He last had contact with anyone in the early hours of Friday, around 2 a.m.

The LA County coroner is awaiting toxicology results before revealing a cause of death.

Family sources have told TMZ they don’t believe the singer’s death was intentional, adding that he and Melanie were in a good place with their relationship, that he was looking forward to Christmas with his son and had made arrangements with a family counselor and social worker.

Carter was a child star who rose to fame in the early 2000s, but whose adult life was marked by drug addiction. His brother Nick was one of the Backstreet Boys.

“Every few months we saw police standing in front of his house,” said the neighbor.

On several occasions Aaron locked Melanie outside his house, after a screaming match and she banged on the door and yelled “let me in.”
