A young woman has revealed her foolproof way to deal with creepy men shouting from construction sites.
Daphne BerryThe 28-year-old woman was recently walking past a construction site when one of the workers decided to yell at her.
The astute teacher wasted no time and simply replied, “Sorry, I don’t have any change.”
On TikTok, she said the simple phrase was a game changer.
“The way all the other guys on the construction site started pointing at him and laughing at him, it made him feel so shitty,” she laughed.
“It’s that simple, sorry, I don’t have any change.”
The video advice went viral and more than four million people watched it.
Thousands of them left comments.
“Your joy about this makes me so happy,” one said.
‘My son spilled water while this video was on, so it played on repeat while I cleaned him up. It got funnier every time,” said one mother.
“It’s true, all you have to do is say one thing right and their friends will kill it,” said another.
But some doubted the trick would work for them.
“I would do this, but I’m not ready to die,” one woman said.
Her comment had 40,000 likes.
“Too real,” one woman added.
“I just smile back because I don’t want to die either,” said another.
“I’m not laughing, that seems dangerous, they might think you want them, I’ll just pretend to be deaf and walk away,” a third added.
Others added their own witty lines.
“Sorry, I can’t take any more stray dogs home!” Is one of my favorites,” said one woman.
While a woman explained why it is best to go through official channels.
“I just reported men from a construction site to the company, and all five men I had called on camera have been removed from that location,” she said.
Daphne was delighted with the response she received to her quick comeback
Some men responded to the post claiming that women were “delusional” and tried to defend or downplay cat calling.
“Men please don’t really bash these women, it’s all in their heads, no one wants them,” one man said.
“Most women won’t get the chance to say this – you need to be called first,” said another.
But some men intervened.
“Every woman is called catty, especially women who live in the city, no matter what she looks like,” one person said.
While others praised the women for defending themselves.
