A VERY stylish society wedding: Prince Ludwig zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Freudenberg weds Helene von Pezold in Germany – with the stunning bride wearing her family’s own diamond tiara

It’s no surprise that German media dubbed Ludwig’s wedding to Helene von Pezold this weekend as Kreuzwertheim’s “dream wedding.”

Louis, 29, – the Hereditary Prince of Löwenstein-Wertheim-Freudenberg – and Helene, 28, the third of four daughters of Kilian von Pezold, certainly had a star-studded day.

Guests at the Protestant wedding in the Collegiate Church of Wertheim – included Duchess Elisabeth in Bavaria, Baroness Sophia and Baron Clemens von Elverfeldt.

The beautiful bride wore a diamond tiara worn by her sister, Sophia von Pezold, for her wedding a few months earlier, and it is believed she will wear the royal piece for her royal ball night.

For the no-cost celebration, the happy couple took their dazzling guests to the castle in Kreuzwertheim to enjoy a menu of roast pork, poultry and plenty of vegetarian dishes such as falafel.

The couple, who had been engaged for over a year, got married yesterday, September 8, during their civil wedding at the Kreuzwertheim town hall and then enjoyed a religious wedding this morning at the Stiftskirche in Wertheim.

Guests will dance the night away at a spectacular ball at Schloss Wertheim in Kreuzwertheim – the seat of the Löwenstein-Wertheim-Freudenberg family since 1736 – tonight.

The happy couple were pictured sharing a kiss on a royal blue carpet lining the aisle of the church.

The church was decorated with white, yellow and blue flowers to match the bride’s elegant bouquet.

The groom and father of the bride wore matching olive green vests, jackets and gray striped trousers.

The newlyweds left the church in a cream-colored wedding car decorated in the same way as the church, with white, yellow and blue flowers on the windshield.

The mayor of Kreuzwertheim, Klaus Thoma, performed the civil wedding on Friday afternoon in the pavilion on the multi-generational square directly on the Main.

The guests were dressed very differently from this morning ceremony, as many wore traditional costumes: the men in lederhosen and the women in dirndls.

Lederhosen is a traditional garment generally associated with mountainous regions of German-speaking Central Europe. The word lederhosen is translated into English as ‘leather riding breeches’.

Ddirndls have a low neckline, a blouse worn under the bodice, a wide skirt with a high waist and an apron.
