A transgender woman has revealed she shrunk while taking hormones to increase estrogen in her body and help her menopause.

Shaye Scott, 39, a transgender woman from Utah, was 6 feet tall before she changed, and shrunk to 6 feet while taking female hormones.

Three years ago, she underwent a medical transition using estrogen and underwent facial feminization in April 2023.

Her wife Amanda measured her new height in a video, which has been viewed 3.5 million times on TikTok.

After undergoing estrogen therapy, she has shrunk two inches to 6 feet

The caption read: ‘Estrogen can affect the feet and ligaments, causing some trans women to lose several inches, but it depends on the individual.’

According to the University of California San Francisco, “some people may notice small changes in shoe size or height” while taking estrogen.

‘This is not due to bone changes, but due to changes in the ligaments and muscles of your feet and spine.’

Ms. Scott also went down two shoe sizes.

Mrs. Scott and her wife have been married for thirteen years and have three children. They navigated Ms. Scott’s transition together and overcame the challenges of their religious youth as Mormons.

The couple was measuring their five-year-old’s height one day when they decided to see how much height

Others in the comments of the video shared their experiences.

One said: ‘I’ve shrunk too. I was 6 feet tall when I switched in 2019. I’m 6 feet tall now.”

Another said: ‘I’ve become shorter too, I was 6ft, now I’m 6ft.’

Ms Scott told Newsweek: ‘I’m glad I’m a little shorter. Most of us just want to fit in and live a normal life.

“I still feel like I’m turning heads at 6 feet, but definitely less than at 6 feet.”
