A shock new poll shows MAJORITY of America now opposes Gaza war… duplicitous Democrats openly mock Netanyahu… and even Trump sounds the alarm. DAN MCLAUGHLIN asks: Have we given up on Israel?

This time, President Biden has truly betrayed Israel.

How do you know that?

His government is running like crazy to deny it.

Let me explain. The reckless 15-member United Nations Security Council – packed with “major” human rights defenders such as gang-ridden Ecuador and authoritarian Algeria – approved a resolution on Monday demanding an immediate Israeli ceasefire in Gaza.

But the non-binding measure, incomprehensibly, did not make the pause in the fighting conditional on Hamas’s release of their 130 hostages (96 alive and 34 presumed dead).

It goes without saying that Israel will not obey. You don’t have to be an experienced diplomat to realize that if the Jewish State were to suspend military operations without preconditions, Hamas would have no incentive to release its prisoners.

Even more galling, this shameful ultimatum comes just weeks after a UN report found that Hamas savages raped women on October 7 and continue to sexually abuse the women and children they continue to hold hostage today.

As a permanent member of the Security Council, the US could have used its veto power to unilaterally ‘kill’ this resolution. But to America’s shame, we sat on our hands and abstained, allowing the resolution to pass 14-0.

Echoes of Barack Obama?

When Barry walked out the door of the Oval Office in December 2016, Barry made a similarly cowardly move.

He ordered his UN ambassador to abstain from voting on a resolution calling for an end to Israeli settlements in East Jerusalem and the West Bank.

If Obama sincerely supported the measure, the US should have voted in favor. Instead, the best hope in the world called in sick that day.

It is no wonder that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was outraged by Biden’s latest move and briefly canceled the planned visit of an Israeli delegation to the US next week.

That meeting has now resumed, but days ago the Biden administration claimed it was stunned by the response.

Grab the Dramamine; we’re about to start spinning.

White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby, doing his best, declared himself “perplexed” on Monday.

“Our vote does not and I repeat does not represent a change in our policies,” he said, feigning shock.

Who is he fooling?

The US had no problem vetoing the three previous UN ceasefire resolutions proposed since October 7.

Why do we let this pass by abstaining?

Well, progressive Democratic Congressman Ro Khanna gave Biden’s game away.

“This is a significant change in (the president’s) Gaza policy after three previous vetoes against the ceasefire resolution,” Khanna tweeted on Monday. ‘Grassroots activism makes the difference…’

So there it is: anti-Israel voters in potential swing states, like Michigan and Minnesota, and on college campuses across the country now have a big megaphone. Team Biden fears losing them in a tight re-election campaign, which is why he has turned to reconciliation. He just doesn’t have the guts to admit it.

He played this doubles game for decades. As Obama’s vice president, he dealt with Israel’s sworn enemy Iran while assuring pro-Israel Democrats that he would stand with Israel.

Today, Biden says Hamas must be destroyed, yet he sends Vice President Harris to oppose a planned Israeli operation to eliminate the terror army’s last stronghold in Rafah.

“Any major military operation in Rafah would be a big mistake,” Harris barked last weekend.

Field Marshal Harris knows best!

With the US-Israel meeting taking place again next week, the White House has started mocking Netanyahu.

A US official told Axios that “Biden’s senior advisers laughed” when they heard of Bibi’s change of heart.

Is this how America treats its war-weary allies? Challenge them in the media?

Biden’s two-faced mask slips off. Even Democrats admit his nonsense has gone too far.

“It is appalling that the US allowed the resolution (this week’s UN resolution) that does not condemn Hamas,” Senator John Fetterman said on Monday.

In New Jersey, Representative Josh Gottheimer warned that the move would “only embolden Hamas and delay the safe return of hostages.”

New York’s newly elected congressman Tom Suozzi said it has strengthened the “Hamas terrorists.”

You would expect Trump to pounce on Biden's vulnerability and drive a wedge between the Democrats' pro-Palestinian and pro-Israel voters. But no.

Biden has lost the plot. But then there is Donald Trump.

You would expect Trump to address Biden’s vulnerability, further driving a wedge between Democrats’ pro-Palestinian and pro-Israel voters. But no.

“Israel has to be very careful because you are losing a big part of the world and you are losing a lot of support,” Trump bluntly told an Israeli media outlet on Monday. “Israel must do what they must do, but we must achieve peace because the world is changing and that is not a good thing for Israel.”

If anyone can hold their finger in the air and tell which way the wind is blowing, it’s Trump.

Lo and behold, a new Gallup poll released Wednesday shows that 55 percent of American adults now oppose Israel’s military action in Gaza, while only 36 percent approve. In November, 50 percent supported Israel’s war. Support has fallen among both parties, as well as among independents.

This is the most chilling warning to Israel yet.

Bibi must have known that he could never trust these deceitful Democrats.

But did he ever think that Trump, too, would become weak in the knees?
