A sex survey reveals which films and TV shows Brits would most like to roleplay in, including Gavin and Stacey
The moment Gavin and Stacey fans have been waiting for is almost finally here, with the highly anticipated Christmas special airing on Christmas Day.
While it’s not exactly the raunchiest show, it seems like some British couples are feeling playful watching the sitcom.
A new survey has revealed which films and TV shows Brits most want to roleplay in, including Gavin and Stacey.
Experts from LELO surveyed 2,000 Brits about sex lives and found that the majority (65 percent) said they wanted to try role-playing in the bedroom.
While several respondents indicated that they like to re-enact reality programs such as Love Island and The Traitors, psychotherapist Kate Moyle advises against this genre.
“It’s best to stick with fictional characters,” she said.
‘The blurring of the lines between IRL relationships and role-playing can become murky and it can be difficult to separate the two when you then meet or spend time with the person you role-played with in real life, and it can cause fears or cause worries where that is not necessary.’

For the survey, LELO asked respondents if they would use role-playing games in the bedroom, and their best fantasy scenarios.
The results showed that relationship dramas are the top inspirational genre, followed by action-adventure-fantasy, historical and superheroes.
Reality TV came in fifth, followed by Sci-Fi and Workplace Dramas.
As for individual TV shows and movies that serve as inspiration for role-playing games, Fifty Shades of Gray topped the list.
However, other more unusual options also proved popular.
Several respondents said they would like to recreate Love Island, while music fans claimed Wicked served as inspiration in the bedroom.
Strangely enough, pro football was the sixth most popular TV show or movie on the list!
“Inspiration can come from all sides, with many respondents favoring characters from shows such as James Bond, EastEnders, Last of the Summer Wine and Gavin and Stacey,” LELO said.

‘While others use their own imagination and usually call on the emergency services (nurses and firefighters) or in the workplace, including office colleagues.’
Unsurprisingly, the results revealed a difference between the sexes.
When it came to historical inspiration, women said they were more inspired by Bridgerton, while men chose Gladiator.
Meanwhile, men were four times as likely to want to play Doctor Who and Spider-Man, while women were twice as likely to choose Star Wars and Wicked.
If you’re thinking of trying TV or movie-inspired role-play, Ms. Moyle advises being clear with your partner about your preferences.
“Talk in advance about any firm yeses and firm nos,” she said.
“While the idea of talking about it earlier may make it feel less spontaneous, a little planning goes a long way.
“You may really like the idea of a particular character or scene, but it’s helpful to identify for your partner the specific parts of it that feel most erotic or arousing to you, so that he or she can really get into it.” battle is possible.’
