A Scary Movie reboot is in the works, but you won’t be able to stream it on Paramount Plus anytime soon

For the first time in almost two decades, it is confirmed that the Wayans brothers will reunite for a new installment of their film Scary movie franchise, but production isn’t expected to begin until next year, so you’ll instead have to stream the first four films on Paramount Plus in the US for Halloween 2024. The filmmaker brothers (Marlon, Shawn and Keenen Wayans) will team up to create a to develop a new scenario for their first Scary movie film since they left the franchise after the release of Scary movie 3 (2006).

CinemaCon announced this there was a new scary movie in the making in April, but only now are details about the production emerging. Marlon Wayans took to Instagram (see below) to announce the reboot of the film franchise, which he developed with his brothers in 2000. In addition to announcing the comeback on social media, the brothers shared that “(they) couldn’t be more excited to be part of the new Scary Movie and working with each other again” in a recent statement.
