A newborn baby fights for life after a 'free birth' goes wrong.
Paramedics were called to a Geelong home on Tuesday morning after the woman delivered the baby without any medical assistance.
The baby was taken to University Hospital Geelong in a critical condition and has since been transferred to the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne.

The child's mother, who is in her 20s, is in a stable condition at University Hospital Geelong.
This practice, called freebirthing, is discouraged by doctors because it can endanger the baby and mother.
It is different from a home birth: a planned birth at home, with a midwife present.
