A new Zelda game reminds everyone to finish the last one
Nintendo will release Echoes of Wisdom to the Nintendo Switch on September 26. While some of the game’s features, like the ability to play as Zelda, have fans excited, some players aren’t. rather ready to move on to the next Zelda game. That’s because some want to make sure they’ve finished the main storyline of Tears of the Kingdom.
TikTok user Just_jaynie shared a video on TikTok mocking the upcoming release. The video, which has been viewed over 15,400 times, shows sped-up footage of Just_jaynie Tears of the Kingdom and run through the fields and the map to complete the game. You can Watch the video below.
People flooded the video’s comments section with responses about how they haven’t finished the game yet. The top comment on the video was: “the amount of time I spent playing that game while steadfastly refusing to finish it is mind-boggling,” another person added, saying, “So we haven’t finished Tears of the Kingdom yet,” with a blushing emoji in the caption. Others shared that they had played 90 hours of the game, but just couldn’t muster up the courage to challenge Ganondorf.
And TikTok commenters aren’t the only ones who haven’t finished the game yet. Some of my favorite Reddit posts in the Zelda communities are the ones that talk about what kept people distracted on their way to beating Ganondorf. This post from two months ago spoke about the person who played Tears of the Kingdombecame obsessed with it but dropped the game one day. Another person in the same thread chimed in saying they just spent time running around and collecting trinkets to max out their armor stats.
It makes sense — sometimes you don’t want to finish a game because you don’t want to feel like it’s finished. But while a new game on the way can be the push to finally tie up some loose ends, Tears of the Kingdom won’t be disappearing from the Switch’s hard drive on September 26.
