A man is stabbed to death at Brooklyn’s Coney Island subway station

NEW YORK– A man was stabbed to death in a New York subway station last night, police said Wednesday.

The 54-year-old man was found stabbed in the back at the Coney Island Stillwell Avenue station in Brooklyn shortly before 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, New York police said in a news release. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The victim’s name was not immediately released. No arrests have been made.

The safety of the city’s public transportation system has been a problem during the Democrats’ mayoralty Eric Adamsalthough city officials praise statistics showing that there will be fewer serious crimes in the metro system in 2024 than in recent years.

The Coney Island station is where beachgoers disembark in the summer for the boardwalk and attractions such as the Cyclone roller coaster.
