  • The shooting occurred at the $2.4 million home where Pickler lives with her husband, country music singer-songwriter, Kyle Jacobs.
  • The victim, who has not been identified, died of a single gunshot wound.

Police are investigating reports that a man fatally shot himself at a house in Nashville, Tennessee, believed to be the home of American Idol star Kellie Pickler.

Officers responded to a call at 1:21 p.m. local time Friday about an “apparent suicide,” a spokesperson for the Nashville Metropolitan Police Department told DailyMail.com.

Spokesman Don Aaron said the incident involved a single gunshot and that the victim was an adult male, but declined to give his identity.

Aaron said that everyone else in the house was safe.

DailyMail.com understands that Pickler lives in the $2.4 million home with her husband Kyle Jacobs, 49, a singer-songwriter. The couple have no children.

Pickler gained fame as a contestant on the fifth season of American Idol in 2006, finishing in sixth place. In 2006, she signed with 19 Recordings and BNA Records as a recording artist.

Residence and other records place the couple there, and property records say the home was last purchased in 2010 by Pickler’s manager, Julie Boos.

Officers from the Nashville police department’s West Precinct and Fire Department rushed to the initial call and were later followed by a team of detectives and officers from the Office of the Medical Examiner.

Pickler, 36, is a country music star with hits like Don’t You Know You’re Beautiful and Best Days of Your Life, co-written with Taylor Swift.

She married Jacobs in 2011.

The couple’s most recent residence records are from 2018 and place them at home.

Jacobs also has an Alaska hunting and fishing license registered on the property since May 2021.

Pickler and Jacobs are believed to have lived in the Nashville home since 2010.

The couple, who married in 2011, are both in the music business.

“We are investigating the President’s apparent suicide at a house on Sneed Road,” police spokesman Don Aaron said.

He told DailyMail.com: ‘The call came in at 1:21 p.m.

‘Sneed Road is located within the West Precinct of our police department, so officers from the West Precinct responded, as did the Nashville Fire Department to that initial call.

‘Since then, a team of detectives has responded.

“The apparent suicide is of a male, an adult.”

The Nashville police spokesman added that the medical examiner’s office attended later and said that was normal for incidents involving a fatality.

The house on Sneed Road, in a suburb just south of downtown Nashville, has four bedrooms and one and a half bathrooms, according to a Zillow listing.

It was last purchased in 2010 for $1.4 million and is now worth an estimated $2.4 million.

The purchase was made by Julie Boos, owner of Tennessee music management company FBMM and Pickler’s manager.
