What wage difference? COLD HARD CASH
It was long reported that Sarah earned a much higher salary than her costars during her time on the show — which eventually led to it going off the air in 2004.
In a 2004 interview about the pay gap: “I felt that after six years it was time for all of us to join the Sex and the City financial windfall…
“When they didn’t seem too keen on that, I thought it was time to move on.”
Four years after the series ended, it was reported that Kim was furious over being executive producer of Sarah Jessica in the second season, which increased her salary to $300,000.
Upon hearing this, Kim allegedly tried to negotiate a higher salary – which was met with extreme anger as it was claimed that the other stars “wouldn’t even sit with her at mealtimes.”
It was also reported that Kim was not among the other actresses at the Emmys in 2004 – to which she commented, “Are we the best of friends?” No. We are professional actresses. We have our own separate lives.’
Of their friendship, Kim told Piers Morgan: We’ve never been friends – we’ve been colleagues. And in some ways that’s a very healthy place to be, as you have a clear line between your professional life and your personal life as well.”
Confirmed! Season 2 of And Just Like That… returns June 22 on HBO Max
She is back! Kim’s public swipes at Sarah Jessica have been numerous, yet there was an unexpected backlash following the tragic death of her brother Chris
“When is this Sarah Jessica Parker coming. . . leave you alone?’ THE DEATH OF KIM’S BROTHER
Kim’s public swipes at Sarah Jessica have been numerous, yet an unexpected reaction came after the tragic death of her brother Chris.
In February 2018, 55-year-old Chris went missing when he left the house unlocked without his phone and wallet, prompting Kim to plead for information.
She then confirmed with a heavy heart that he had been found dead near his home in Alberta, Canada. Further details were not given, but it was revealed that police “had no reason to believe that anything suspicious was involved in his death.”
Shortly after his death, Kim took to Instagram to thank both her fans and her Sex and the City colleagues for their support before lashing out at Sarah.
Following her thank yous, Kim shared an image four days later that read, “You are not my family. You are not my friend. So I am writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy to restore your ‘nice girl’ persona.”
She added a caption to the shot aimed at Sarah, reading: “My mom asked me today, ‘When will that hypocrite leave you alone?’ Your constant reaching out is a painful reminder of how cruel you really were then and now…
“Let me make this VERY clear. (If I haven’t already) You are not my family. You are not my friend. So I am writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy to restore your ‘nice girl’ persona.”
‘It’s a no from me’: KIM’S PROMISE TO AVOID AND LIKE THAT…
In 2019, whispers started around And Just Like That, with Samantha’s presence sparking widespread whispers, before it was announced that Kim was refusing to come on board amid behind-the-scenes turmoil.
The first season of the show’s new incarnation, renamed And Just Like That, will run for ten episodes on HBO in 2021, with the new series returning soon.
In 2019, the network’s chief content officer Casey Bloys reflected on Samantha’s departure, saying, “Just like in real life, people come into your life and people leave. Friendships fade and new friendships are born.’
It’s a no for me: Explaining why she wouldn’t be returning, Kim said in 2019, “It’s a “no” from me. You learn life lessons and my lesson is to work with good people and try to make it fun

Even SJP has claimed she doesn’t want Kim back – when Variety asked in a 2022 interview if she’d be ‘OK’ if Kim could come back to the show if a ‘miracle happened’, after their very public feud exploded in 2018.
Parker responded, “I don’t think I would because I think there’s just too much public history of feelings on her part that she’s shared.” I didn’t participate or read articles, although people tend to let me know.’
“We didn’t go to Kim for this, you know,” Parker said. “After we didn’t make the movie and the studio couldn’t fulfill what she wanted to do, we need to hear her and listen to her and what was important to her.”
‘It didn’t fit in with what was important or necessary for us. There’s a very clear line between Samantha and Kim,” Parker continued.
