The ex-Countdown presenter has been married twice prior to her reported romance with Andrew Parker-Bowles.

Anne met her first husband, Charlie Wilson, while working as a journalist for The Ny Breaking. She was the first female intern at the publication in 1967.

A year later, in 1968, she married Charlie Wilson, but had to quit her job because married couples were not allowed to work together at the time.

In 1970, Anne gave birth to their only child, Emma, and later began working for The Sunday Times.

In 1973, their union fell apart and the couple became embroiled in bitter divorce proceedings, fighting over custody of Emma when she was just two years old.

Anne’s ex-husband was given sole custody of their child; Anne was drinking heavily at the time.

In 1980, Anne married another journalist – John Penrose – but the couple separated 27 years later.

The iconic TV presenter was at the peak of her career when the two decided to divorce on September 30, 2007 due to ‘irreconcilable differences’.

As such, her divorce from John Anne reportedly cost £20 million, according to OK!.

However, the Weakest Link star could reportedly have their Long Island mansion, Gloucestershire cottage, London mansion and New York penthouse.

Ann told MailOnline it was like an ‘everyday car crash’ when the couple decided to go their separate ways.

‘I was surprised because I decided this was what I wanted. I didn’t expect it to be so emotional, so that really surprised me.

‘You’re fooling yourself. You think you’re not going to read it, but you feel like you’re walking around in someone else’s reading glasses.

‘I think we were both very sad. We would have to have a heart of stone not to do that. You just feel very down. You feel very joyless for a while, for no good reason.”

In an interview with the Ny Breaking, Ann revealed that her success put a strain on her marriage to John.

“No mother puts her son on her knee and teaches him what to do when he grows up and marries someone who makes more money and might even be smarter than him.

‘There are few happy husbands under these circumstances, and I am amazed that Penrose and I have come as far as we have.’

However, it looks like Anne has now found happiness after confirming her relationship with Andrew.

The star’s romance with the retired army brigadier general, 83, was reportedly an ‘open secret’ among the upper echelon.

A mutual friend told the Sun: ‘They have sensibly avoided having their pictures taken together as they both wanted to keep this quiet for as long as possible.

‘Annie proudly tells everyone that she is the daughter of a chicken seller at a market trader and that she is as far from a toff as it is possible to be. Frankly, it surpasses any storyline The Crown can think of.”

The source added that she remained “strongly independent and self-sufficient” and that there was “no chance” of the couple moving in together.

Speaking about her return to the dating scene in her 70s after more than a decade of being single, she told Saga: “I was out of the game for so long. And I don’t drink either. If you don’t drink, you’re not that reckless, are you?

‘I’m a big believer in surprising yourself by taking risks. Personal and professional. Nothing ventured nothing gained. If the worst that can happen is that you get egg on your face, that’s not terrible, is it?’

As for why dating older can be easier, she said: “You’re a lot more selective about what you start worrying about. Nothing matters that much. You’re not going to change.’

Meanwhile, they married Camilla in 1973 and had two children together, Tom and Laura, before divorcing in 1995.

The king, who divorced Diana, Princess of Wales in 1996, married Camilla at the Guildhall in Windsor in April 2005.

Andrew and the Queen have remained friends, with the former army officer on the select guest list for the King’s coronation.
