Jason Cummings has given Central Coast Mariners arguably the best parting gift ever after scoring his side’s opening goal in the A-League Grand Final against Melbourne City.

Ahead of the grand final, Cummings confirmed the big match is “the last dance” for him amid reports that the Socceroos cult hero is moving to India.

And 20 minutes into the game against regular season premier City, Cummings faithfully sent the Mariners wild with a clean finish to give his side a surprising lead.

The Scottish-born striker was in the perfect spot for a cross from the right and was quickest to jump onto the loose ball to finish past City goalkeeper Thomas Glover.

“It’s the last dance, maybe I’ll give a little speech after that [the game],” he told Network 10.

The Mariners were in dreamland a short time later as their lead was doubled by Sam Silvera, before City pulled one back through Richard van der Venne.
