A fright on the tiles! Halloween revellers hit city centres in terrifying fancy dress for nights out ahead of spookiest time of the year
- Partygoers took to the streets to start their weekend of Halloween celebrations
- Birmingham, Leeds and Newcastle filled with clubbers in fancy dress
- Most were in good spirits, despite the temperature dropping into the single digits
Halloween enthusiasts took to the streets last night in an array of weird and wonderful costumes as the weekend of celebrating all things spooky kicked off in Britain.
Most major cities had a large number of fancy dress Halloween parties and club nights yesterday, with thousands gathering in one location for a costume extravaganza.
The clubbers took to the streets of Birmingham, Leeds and Newcastle dressed as devils, mischievous police officers and other spooky outfits.
Most venues across the country remained quiet, although in a number of places the scenes became increasingly chaotic as the night progressed, as people continued to consume drinks at an impressive pace.
Several partygoers looked worse for wear as they rested on sidewalks and steps after a long night out with friends, some enjoying a well-deserved takeaway before catching a taxi home.
However, most were in good spirits despite temperatures dropping into single digits, with some wearing very revealing outfits.
