A flight attendant has revealed the downsides of her job, including being humiliated and harassed by passengers.

Cierra Mistt, who works for a Salt Lake City airline, told her 3.2 million TikTok followers that they are not there ‘just to serve coke’.

She explained that their training goes on for “months” to prepare them for anything that could happen in an emergency.

She cited “trust issues” due to pilots and flight attendants “hooking on” all the time as another major drawback of her role.

In the clip, which garnered more than 1.3 million likes, she said, “The downsides of being a flight attendant, number one is almost no sleep.

“While there is a requirement of a minimum of nine hours of rest, that hour begins at least 15 minutes after the flight door is opened.

She went on to explain that it takes 45 minutes to get ‘unloaded’ and another 30 minutes to an hour to get to the hotel, plus she needs to be back at the airport 45 minutes before departure for her flight.

“Number two is okay with being demoted and harassed by passengers and employees.

“Many people think that flight attendants are just there to serve coke, we are also still in the old-fashioned days where we have to wear heels and make-up and everything has to look perfect.

‘That said, many employees consider you just the good looking one, but I want to let you in on a secret, our training doesn’t take weeks but months.

“That training we go through prepares us for anything that can happen in a mental tube flying 30,000 feet high.

“Like I said, it’s not just the employees who treat us like garbage, the number of times I’ve been touched and poked in inappropriate places.

“Number three trust issues, there are more pilots and flight attendants and pilots meeting people on their overnight stays and even more meeting with each other on their overnight stays.”
