The bizarre incident took place in the 55th minute at Selhurst Park with United leading 1-0 thanks to a Bruno Fernandes goal late in the first half.
The match was briefly interrupted when a local fan wearing a bomber jacket jumped onto the pitch and took a selfie with Casemiro.
The stewards appeared to be slow to react to trying to stop the fan and he was almost off the pitch again before security found him.
