Tesla has released a free software upgrade to fix the problem and notification letters are expected to be sent to owners on November 25.
Cybertruck owners have faced a series of recalls since the vehicle went on sale in November. In June, there was a recall to resolve issues with trim parts that could come loose and front windshield wipers that could malfunction. Two months earlier, some Cybertrucks were recalled because the the accelerator pedal could get stuck.
In the latest recall, the company told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that the displays on affected trucks may remain blank for up to eight seconds after a driver shifts into reverse. The US requires these screens to be activated with a rearview mirror within 2 seconds of shifting into reverse.
