Aaron Rodgers drops fresh retirement hint as scrutiny grows over his New York Jets future

Aaron Rodgers is taking some time off after this season before making a decision on his future in the NFL.

While fans have called for the 41-year-old to hang up his cleats after the New York Jets’ disastrous season ends, the veteran quarterback claims he will re-evaluate at the end of the season.

During a media bash on Wednesday, Rodgers said: “I’m going to take some time after the year. Unless I am released immediately.’

‘But I’ll take some time [to decide] whether or not I’m going to play. Either way, it will take some time before I can escape it.”

Rodgers has completed 305 of 488 attempts for 3,255 yards and 23 touchdowns this season. Meanwhile, he was sacked 32 times and threw eight interceptions.

The Jets are 4-10 and third in the AFC East with three games remaining.
