David Tennant has unveiled a sweet tattoo tribute to his wife Georgia as she prepares to celebrate her 40th birthday.

The Doctor Who star, 53, showed off the new ink in photos taken by tattoo artist Sym, who posts on Instagram about the taste of tears.

The tattoo consisted of a delicate letter G in the aptly named Georgia font, on the side of David’s wrist.

In their post, Sym said they were extremely honored to give David the ink, and shared a photo with the actor after the tattoo was completed.

They captioned the post: ‘Cat’s out the bag – it was an honor to create this special ‘G’, in Georgia font for David Tennant’s first tattoo. A beautiful tribute to @georgiatennantofficial for her birthday.

‘Funfact: one of the very first tattoos I made was ‘BadWolf’, so this was a wonderful moment to come full circle and conclude this year’s tattoos.

The couple married in 2011 and have five children: Olive, 12, Wilfred, ten, Doris, eight, and Birdie, four, with David also adopting Georgia’s eldest child Ty, 21.

It comes after it was confirmed that David will return to present the 2025 British Academy Film Awards after impressing viewers by leading the glitzy ceremony earlier this year.

The star of Mary Queen of Scots will host the ceremony the Royal Festival Hall at the Southbank Center in central London, and it will be broadcast BBC One and iPlayer, Britbox in the US and Australia.
