Ex-AFL WAG Amy Pejkovic reveals her grim reality of being single at 31 after splitting with her footy star beau David Zaharakis: ‘This is embarrassing’
Ex-AFL WAG Amy Pejkovic has revealed the grim reality of being single in her 30s following her split from Essendon footballer David Zaharakis.
The model, 31, said she found it difficult to adjust to not having a partner at her age and was forced to move in with her parents after their split.
“I’m single and 31 and that’s definitely not something I thought I’d ever say,” Amy said in a video on Instagram.
She admitted that she felt humiliated by the situation.
‘When I was younger, I thought I would be married at 31 and have children and a house. Instead, I went back to live with my parents and am treated like a 14-year-old!’ she said.
‘It feels embarrassing, I’m 31 and single! So many of my friends are in happy relationships and I’m not.

“I look at myself and I’m just not where I thought I would be. It’s a hard pill to swallow.’
Amy ended by saying she hoped things would improve and asked her fans to share their similar stories with her.
Many of Amy’s followers quickly took to the comments section to express their messages of support.
“It’s a hard pill to swallow, but you’ll be fine,” one fan wrote.
‘Absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. It’s pretty normal these days,” a second person added.
Earlier this week it was reported that Amy was heartbroken but was dealing with her breakup in the ‘mature’ way.
The model parted ways with her AFL star partner after the pair realized they weren’t cut out as lovers.
They had been dating for four years and reportedly made the decision to split.

The model, 31, said she found it difficult to adjust to not having a partner at her age and was forced to move in with her parents after their split.
“We decided we would be better as friends,” she told the newspaper Herald Sun on Sunday.
‘I’m proud of how we handled it. We weren’t as compatible as we thought,” she continued.
‘I loved with all my heart and I admire him so much and still love him. He is also very curious about what I will do next year. That’s life.’
Amy said she is now focusing on her career and may move to Europe to pursue modeling and ambassadorial work.
She has appearances with the Australian Open and the Australian Grand Prix on her busy schedule.
Zaharakis has also made changes in his life and career.
The former Essendon midfielder has done so well in his transformation into an Ironman competitor that he will take on the ‘elite of the elite’ in the sport’s world championship this month.
Zaharakis played 226 games in 13 AFL seasons for the Bombers before retiring in 2021.
He was a fan favorite, decked out in red and black, and in 2013 he won the Anzac Day Medal after an impressive performance against Collingwood and after being crowned the club’s best and fairest player in 2011.
