Lamar Jackson celebrated the Ravens’ victory on Thursday by delivering a certain message to the organization’s front office — and not for the first time.

The quarterback was handed a sign after Baltimore’s 27-22 win over the Bucs that read ‘RAVENS PAY EM’ NOW’ with Jackson’s number 8 and receiver Rashod Bateman’s number 7 on the poster.

Jackson signed the poster before handing it back to the fan with a coy smile on his face.

The sign points to Jackson’s failed contract negotiations with the team during the off-season as the two sides failed to agree on a long-term deal for the 2019 MVP.

Jackson will earn more than $23 million this year with a fifth-year option, but according to NFL Networkis seeking a deal close to the $230 million guaranteed Deshaun Watson received from the Browns when he was traded there.

The Ravens’ final offer reportedly included $133 million fully guaranteed on a six-year deal, which Jackson declined.

That amount is about the same as what Jackson would earn if he played his option, an exclusive franchise tag in 2023 and another tag in 2024, as NFL Network noted.

For now, Jackson is playing without a long-term deal and he and the Ravens will revisit contract talks at the end of this season.

The fifth-year quarterback won’t have hurt his influence in those conversations with his performance Thursday night, as he threw for 238 yards, two touchdowns and ran for 43 more without some of his best playmakers available.

Mark Andrews, Rashod Bateman and Gus Edwards all left the game due to injuries, but Jackson found a way to lead the charge with a somewhat messy group around him.

Jackson may find it difficult in the coming years to reach the heights of his 2019 MVP season, but his 2022 has been strong.

He has 15 touchdowns against six interceptions and has already rushed for 553 yards in eight games.

Bateman, who was also referred to on the board, may find it difficult to make a long-term deal in the short term.

The wide receiver has two years left on his rookie contract after 2022 and was solid but unspectacular early in his career.

The former Minnesota inventor has missed seven games since his rookie season last year and averaged 44.4 yards per game.
