SNL star Chris Redd’s attacker ‘used brass knuckles’ in horrifying assault

SNL star Chris Redd’s attacker wore brass knuckles when he punched the comedian in the face in New York City on Wednesday. TMZ.

Sources close to the star told the publication that Chris had two black eyes and a large cut on his nose that had to be stitched up after the attack, with two men reportedly involved in the attack.

Redd was rushed to hospital but is said to be in good condition and released shortly after.

The star is said to have met with police to review the surveillance footage, with Chris saying he was “shaken to the bone” by the attack and plans to use security around him in the future.

Chris was getting out of a car in front of the Comedy Cellar in Greenwich Village when a man dressed in a guard uniform approached him and allegedly assaulted him, TMZ reports.

The prankster was wearing a Greg Yuna necklace, which fell apart when the suspect allegedly grabbed it as he ran away from the bloody crime scene.

He was also able to get his necklace back from the scene.

Redd was attacked by a man wearing a guard uniform, who ran away and attacked the comedian, leaving him bloodied

Police rushed to the scene but were unable to locate the man.

The incident happened at 9:40 PM on Wednesday night before his performance at the comedy club.

The alleged attack comes just weeks after it was revealed that he is dating Christina Evangeline, the ex-wife of co-star Kenan Thompson.

Chris and Kenan are castmates on SNL.

Kenan filed for divorce from Christina in June, but the duo has been said to have split up since 2019.

Kenan and Christina had been married for 11 years before the news broke in May that they were divorcing.

Chris announced this month that he would be leaving Saturday Night Live after five seasons, becoming the eighth cast member to leave the show since May.

The prankster is working on a new project at Audible Audio, with SNL producer Lorne Michaels.

Meanwhile, Kenan is said to be dating other people himself, and reportedly holds no grudges over Chris and Christina’s alleged romance.

The two men have a professional relationship that goes beyond Saturday Night Live — Chris starred on Kenan’s self-titled NBC sitcom, which ended in May after two seasons.

Meanwhile, Chris and Christina have apparently known for six years, that is, about a year before Chris became a featured player on Saturday Night Live.
