One horn in the grave! Police find £10 million worth of cocaine hidden in two coffins
Dutch police discovered a staggering £10 million worth of cocaine hidden in two coffins.
Police discovered the 250 kg of cocaine during an arrest near Numansdorp, in the province of South Holland, on December 13.
A 30-year-old suspect from Rotterdam, France, was arrested after the shocking discovery.
The National Expertise and Operation Unit of the police said in a statement the next day that the suspect ‘drove a van with a French license plate on the A29 near Numansdorp and showed suspicious (driving) behaviour’.
When they stopped the driver and asked for an explanation, he claimed he was transporting the two coffins he told police contained bodies.
“However, the documents have not materialized,” the police added.
‘Our colleagues then drove to a funeral home for verification. There it was discovered that the crates contained sports bags with more than 250 kg of cocaine, with a street value of 13 million euros.
“The man has been arrested and the drugs have been destroyed,” the report confirmed.

It comes after investigators discovered a stash of cocaine worth £40 million hidden on an inflatable boat off the West Sussex coast in October.
Six men were arrested after a half-ton haul discovered by the National Crime Agency at Medmerry Beach, near Selsey.
A 39-year-old was arrested at Luton Airport, a 39-year-old was arrested in Liverpool, and a man, 38, was arrested in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire.
Police also arrested a 45-year-old in Bournemouth, Dorset, a 41-year-old was arrested in Poole, and a man aged 36 was also arrested in Tilbury in Essex.
A month earlier, a fishing boat carrying around a tonne of cocaine was intercepted off the coast of Cornwall, marking a ‘huge loss’ for an organized crime group, the National Crime Agency (NCA) said.
NCA officers arrested four men and seized the drugs after the boat was stopped at sea off Newquay in September.
The four men were arrested on suspicion of importing Class A drugs.
Images provided by the NCA showed 17 brick-shaped packages in brown packaging and two in dark packaging, most labeled ‘pezx’.
And in August, two drug smugglers jumped into the sea in a failed attempt to escape authorities after being caught with £37 million worth of cocaine in their boat.
Bruce Knowles, 55, and Ferhat Gumrukguoglu, 31, were intercepted by Border Force near East Benacre Broads in Suffolk with 350kg of cocaine in the hull of their boat.
Border Force deputy director Sally Hawkyard said: “Our Border Force officers played a crucial role in tracking down and seizing millions of pounds worth of cocaine, ensuring these two men were brought to justice.
“We remain committed to preventing illegal drugs from entering the country, where they destroy lives and fuel organized criminal gangs.
‘Border Force will continue to work tirelessly to keep the public safe and secure our borders.’
