Chiefs provide major injury update on Patrick Mahomes after quarterback limped off during win over Browns
The Kansas City Chiefs eased fans’ concerns Sunday night when they provided a health update on Patrick Mahomes.
The quarterback limped off the field at Huntington Bank Field during the fourth quarter of the reigning Super Bowl champions’ 21-7 victory over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.
After the Week 15 game, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid revealed the extent of Mahomes’ injury.
The coach assured fans that the injury was not as serious as initially feared, but did admit that the signal caller was in pain.
“His right ankle is injured,” he told reporters. ‘It’s not broken, but it hurts. While we’re at it, he’ll get started on the rehabilitation part. We just have to see how he does down here.”
Mahomes will reportedly undergo further testing on Monday, which will allow the Chiefs to determine how long he will be out.
