Selena Gomez seen for first time since engagement to Benny Blanco as she attends LA event without ring

Selena Gomez was spotted for the first time since announcing her engagement to Benny Blanco on Wednesday.

The 32-year-old Emilia Perez actress – who proposed with a stunning 8-carat marquise-cut diamond ring – gave a friendly wave to fans as she arrived at the Harmony Gold Theater in Los Angeles on Saturday.

It comes just days after the star took to her main Instagram page to reveal that the record producer, 36, had popped the big question after a year and a half of dating.

While Gomez opted not to wear the statement ring during the outing, she showed off a black velvet skirt and white blouse that was tucked in at the waist.

She paired the ensemble with a long, black coat and also donned a pair of black closed-toe pumps.

Selena’s short, brunette locks were parted to the side and flowed down in light curls to brush the tops of her shoulders.

The Wolves singer completed the look with a pair of dangling silver earrings and a silver ring on her right hand.

Her makeup was done classically and consisted of a coat of mascara on her eyelashes and a bold red shade on her lips.

Gomez had a big smile on her face and carried her smartphone easily in her hand as she arrived at the venue.

Saturday’s outing was her first since the revelation that Blanco proposed during a romantic picnic on set.

The Only Murders In The Building actress posted a series of photos to her main Instagram page that captured the special moment.

In one image, the star showed off just her left hand to give her 423 million fans and followers a close-up glimpse of the striking diamond ring.

The engagement also pays tribute to Selena’s 2015 hit titled Good For You, where she notably sings the lyrics, “I’m on my marquise Diamonds / I’m a Marquise Diamond / Could even make that Tiffany jealous.”

Another photo was taken while Selena sat on a blanket placed over a patch of artificial grass.

Both a picnic basket and a Taco Bell box could be seen nearby as the actress happily looked at the ring on her finger.

Benny placed a loving kiss on the side of the singer’s face as they paused for a cute photo together.

Finally, she took a selfie while showing off the diamond ring and wrote in the caption of the post, “It starts forever now..”

Social media users and celebrities flocked to the comments section to congratulate the couple.

Gomez’s BFF, Taylor Swift, wrote, “Yes, I’ll be the flower girl,” while Cardi B wrote, “Waiiiitttt wait a minute,” followed by surprised face and heart emojis.

“Congratulations beautiful!” Suki Waterhouse added, while Blanco herself affectionately typed, “Hey wait…that’s my wife.”

Jennifer Aniston shared, “HONEY!! Congratulations dear mom! ,” and Lily Collins wrote: “Ahhhhhhhh yes yes yes!! Best news ever. I couldn’t be happier for you both .”

Vampire Diaries alum Nina Dobrev — who also recently announced her engagement to Shaun White — wrote, “YES!!!! Congratulations!!!!! So happy for you both!!!!”

Gordon Ramsey was another star who sent well wishes to the lovebirds, sharing: ‘Congratulations to you both, I guess it’s cooking .’

On Saturday, Benny shared a short film on his own Instagram to share a special moment from the proposal.

He filmed the actress at the romantic picnic as they shared glasses of champagne, just moments after he popped the big question.

The couple’s romance was confirmed almost a year earlier in December last year, but the pair had already been dating for six months at the time.

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter Last month, Selena discussed her budding romance with Blanco.

‘This is the safest I’ve ever felt [a relationship]and I see a future with this person. And if you throw a little bit in there, people aren’t so hungry to hunt you down anymore.”

The singer then explained that there are aspects of their relationship that fans “don’t see,” as the couple mainly keeps their romance out of the public eye.

Gomez also took to her Instagram Stories and uploaded a selfie to show off her glowing skin and the rhinestones on her face with the caption “Rare” – referencing her brand Rare Beauty.

Her brunette locks were combed back from her face as she wore a black leather jacket.

As the year comes to a close, Selena also picked up two Golden Globe nominations late last month.

She was nominated for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role in any film category, based on her role in Emilia Perez.

The former Disney star was also nominated for her role in the Hulu series Only Murders In The Building.
