Move over Gwynnie! Coleen Rooney’s I’m A Celeb swimsuit shower scenes and jungle squats were all part of a carefully orchestrated ploy to kick start her Goop-style wellness empire – as Wayne fights to save his job

Her husband Wayne Rooney is said to be ‘fighting to keep his job’ as head coach of Plymouth Argyle, where he is expected to earn £500,000 a year.

But of course, Coleen Rooney has a master plan to pump some extra cash into the Rooney household after she lands her first big payday since I became a celebrity.

Before heading Down Under, Coleen, 38, signed a mega deal with wellness brand Applied Nutrition and was taking the brand’s collagen capsules every day – which she brought into the jungle as her ‘luxury item’.

Her stint on the ITV series, where she reached the final and came second to winner Danny Jones, will no doubt help boost sales.

Her adoring fans watched her step into the famous jungle shower – while other celebrities were reluctant to embrace the cold – and keep up her fitness routine with daily bodyweight squats.

The WAG is far from the first star to enter the wellness world, with Gwyneth Paltrow famously founding her GOOP empire, which is now valued at $250 million.

Holly Willoughby has also entered the industry with her lifestyle brand Wylde Moon, while Sam Faiers has founded skincare brand Revive Collagen.

Coleen now looks set to earn a big payday with her new deal, which comes after she showed off her incredible figure on the ITV show.

Speaking to the Ny Breaking, Coleen told how, instead of her usual Reformer Pilates workouts, she settled for bodyweight squats in the jungle.

She said: ‘At home I do squats every morning when I get in the shower. I get up before the kids get up and I do a routine of squats and I know that once I get them done I can keep going.

‘I would also do a few gym sessions and Reformer Pilates, but in the Jungle it was obviously my squats.’

Meanwhile, pressure is mounting on Wayne Rooney after his Plymouth Argyle side suffered heavy blows against Bristol City and Norwich.

Plymouth currently sit 21st in the Championship after a 4-0 defeat at Ashton Gate on Saturday.

That defeat came just four days after the Devon side were defeated 6-1 at Carrow Road.

In total, since taking over at Home Park in May, Rooney has overseen 20 games as Plymouth boss, winning five, drawing five and losing 10.

According to The Telegraph, Rooney is now fighting for his future and Plymouth’s next two games would be crucial in whether he stays or goes.

Plymouth’s next two games are both at home: against Oxford on Saturday and against Swansea on December 10.

But Coleen’s future earnings are set to give the Rooney household a boost as brand and culture expert Nick Ede predicted she could rake in £2million after I’m A Celebrity.

He told MailOnline: ‘Coleen has really shown Britain who she is and it was refreshing to see what a great personality she is.

‘She has already successfully had her own documentary on Disney+ and with her love of fashion and family I can see her being offered her own show or jobs as well.

‘With over a million followers she can earn good money for promotion on her platform and with her honest and down-to-earth approach she will be offered a lot of endorsements.’

During her time at camp, Coleen gave viewers a glimpse into her routine as she slipped away from her campmates to do some squats.

Speaking to the Bush Telegraph, Coleen admitted: ‘I wake up really early so I pretty much try to keep the routine I do at home.’

She added: “I try to sneak away to do them alone. I usually do squats in the shower!’

Coleen, who already has a stake in the company, stands to make a fortune from her investment.

A source told The Sun: ‘A huge PR campaign is planned around her work at Applied Nutrition. There was even a big TV commercial shot before she went into the jungle, and it will air on prime time TV early this year.”

It comes after Coleen reportedly stands to make big money if she agrees to bring back her iconic TV show after 16 years off-screen.

ITV are said to be desperate to take over the WAG to host television shows after her successful stint on I’m A Celebrity, in which she finished second behind winner Danny Jones.

The broadcaster has offered her a big-money deal, which apparently includes Coleen’s comeback series Real Women.

The show, which originally aired on ITV2 in 2008, saw Coleen tasked with finding naturally beautiful women to be the faces of big brands.

A source said The sun: ‘ITV are keen to sign Coleen after the Jungle and have offered her a range of shows, including bringing back Coleen’s Real Women, which she enjoyed making.

‘They really want to snap her up before another big money deal tempts her away from ITV.’

Coleen has been tipped to become ‘ITV’s new golden girl’ after winning over a legion of fans during her time in the jungle.

The Sun also reported that she is being sought for slots on Loose Women and This Morning.

A source told the paper: ‘Coleen’s return to public life after the Wagatha Christie trial was carefully orchestrated – and it has more than paid off.

‘While in the jungle she was touted as ITV’s next Holly Willoughby and the offers are already pouring in. But there is one deal on the table that has really piqued her team’s interest.

‘Given Coleen’s love of the Loose Women show, the team are also looking to add her to their guest list, with a view to finding her something more permanent.’

But she has now admitted that she initially thought she would be ‘too quiet’ to compete with all the big personalities.

She also revealed that she felt a little tense during her first few days at camp, but she emphasized that her fellow campmates soon made her feel more at ease.

Speaking to the Ny Breaking, Coleen said: ‘It didn’t come across in the editorial department at all, but those first few days were slightly, slightly awkward, maybe because of the personalities.

‘It wasn’t awkward. They made it comfortable. I just sat back and looked at the camp and thought, I was quieter than everyone else. That’s it.’

Coleen added: “You know what, I was just me and that’s what went in there.

‘The first week I just thought: I can’t see myself, not that I will continue to exist as a person, but that I will go all the way because I was just being myself. And we had a lot of personalities there that were great and that I got along with.

“But they were artists, singers, dancers, comedians. I felt like sometimes I was just thinking, what should I take with me?

“But people clearly enjoyed her and wanted me to stay there longer and see a bit more of me.”
