New twist in Nancy Mace ‘assault’ as witnesses reveal what happened between GOP Rep. and transgender activist
A day after claiming she was “physically accosted” by a pro-trans activist and posed for photos in a cast to prove it, eyewitnesses are casting doubt on Rep. Nancy Mace’s account.
The South Carolina Republican has been on a crusade against pro-transgender policies in the U.S. Capitol in recent weeks after the first transgender member of the House of Representatives was elected in November, Sarah McBride of Delaware.
Since then, she has posted numerous photos and videos talking about the topic, saying she is protecting women’s rights.
Speaking at an event for foster children at the US Capitol on Tuesday evening, Mace made shocking claims that she was targeted by a trans rights activist.
“I was physically confronted on the Capitol grounds tonight for my fight to protect women. Capitol Police arrested him,” she posted after the encounter. “All the violence and threats prove our point. Women deserve to be safe. Your threats won’t stop my fight for women!’
James McIntyre, 33, was arrested at the Rayburn House office building in connection with the incident, Capitol Police said. The Illinois lawyer is charged with assaulting a public official.
McIntyre pleaded not guilty to the assault charge on Wednesday evening. A judge subsequently ordered McIntyre’s release following his arraignment in a DC superior court.
But now eyewitnesses are coming forward and saying they don’t believe Mace’s recollection of the events.

“From what I saw, it was a normal handshake and interaction that I would expect from any legislator from anyone as a voter,” Elliott Hinkle, LGBT attorney, told Elliott Hinkle. The print.
Hinkle said that after Mace’s comments about foster children, McIntyre stood up, shook her hand and told her, “They need your support.”
Afterwards, one of Mace’s staffers returned to the front desk and approached McIntyre.
They asked for his name and asked him to tell them what he had previously said to the Republican.
According to the outlet, two separate witnesses confirmed the interaction with the South Carolina deputy.
Later, McIntyre left the event but was recalled by Capitol Police.
Upon his return, he was arrested for assaulting a government official and was expelled by authorities, according to authorities Daily beast.
On Wednesday, the Republican posted a photo of her wearing a plaster cast to show the severity of the attack.
Mace has said her PTSD from sexual assault prompted her to ban McBride from entering women’s restrooms and locker rooms.
“The usual suspects in the media are using the attack on me to support the misogyny on the left and give a platform to activists chasing their 15 minutes of fame,” she wrote in another post. “You don’t hate the corporate media enough.”
A police report said the activist shook Mace’s hand in an “exaggerated, aggressive” manner.
She told authorities that McIntyre said, “Trans youth for advocacy,” as she shook her hand.
“One new brace for my wrist and some ice for my arm and it’s healing just fine,” Mace posted on social media. Once the aches and pains go away, I’ll be fine again.’
A Capitol Police spokesperson said, “Just before 6 p.m., the Congressman’s office reported an incident at the Rayburn House Office Building.
“Officials from the House Division and agents from the Threat Assessment Division located the suspect.

Mace, a Republican from South Carolina, is campaigning to ban transgender lawmaker Sarah McBride from using the women’s restrooms around Congress.
The Democratic representative-elect is the first openly trans politician elected to Congress and is the highest-ranking elected trans politician in the country’s history.
Mace has said that her PTSD from sexual assault prompted her to ban McBride from entering the women’s restrooms and locker rooms.
The 47-year-old has posted videos in which he calls McBride a man, repeatedly talks about their genitals and criticizes transgenderism.
Last month, Mace introduced a bill that would force House members and staff to use the bathrooms that correspond to their biological gender.
In concrete terms, the measure would mean that McBride, who was born as a man, would have to use the men’s facilities.
The Capitol’s top security officer, the Sergeant at Arms, would be tasked with enforcing the policy.
“Just the idea of a man sitting in a locker room with me as a survivor of sexual assault sends me over the edge, and I’m just not going to tolerate it,” Mace previously said.
“And I’m really proud of the women and girls who feel the courage and bravery to stand up and shout from the rooftops that this is not okay.”
“There’s a big difference between being pro-civil liberties and then being pro-women,” Mace continued. ‘Women have rights and we are not going to erase them.’
Mace and her staff have been subjected to a number of threats since she pushed for the ban in November.
She previously said that “trantifa” wanted to kill her following a report on X about a trans person in Portland, Oregon who threatened to kill her.
‘NGL. I had to google ‘trantifa’. I learned a lot this week,” Mace wrote last November.
“These people deserve a room in jail and/or a psychiatric ward,” she continued before calling out Oregon leaders.
“I also wonder out loud what @Portland_State and Oregon Governor @TinaKotek think about an alleged student threatening to kill a congressman?” she continued.
She responded to a post identifying the person who posted a series of threats against Mace and author JK Rowling as a 24-year-old transgender student activist from Portland.
‘Trantifa’ is a term that refers to the increase in extremism and the threat of violence from far-left transgender activists. A United Nations researcher warned about this trend last year.
