Microsoft goes down across US as users report issues with Outlook and Teams

Microsoft is experiencing an outage with its 365 services such as Outlook and Teams.

‘We have disabled proactive caching to provide some relief. At the same time, we have tested and deployed a solution that we believe will address the impact, according to the company’s Service Health Status pages.

“We expect the repair to take approximately two hours.”

Microsoft 365 includes a large number of applications, including Microsoft Teams, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Purview, Copilot and Outlook Web and Desktop.

The company issued an alert around 7:45 a.m. ET, reporting ‘Service Degradation’ for web services, and has advised users to access their Microsoft 365 apps and documents through the desktop applications.

Downdetector, a site that monitors online outages, shows that problems reached Microsoft hours before the official warning was released.

The most reported issue is Outlook, with 65 percent of users citing issues, followed by the website and OneDrive.

‘Cannot log in to my Outlook via browser. Teams works, but has bugs. I also don’t have access to the admin center,” Nathan Morin told Downdetector.

Another user posted: ‘I’m trying to log into Outlook this morning and get the following message: ‘We are experiencing a service outage.

‘All your open files have been saved. It may take some time before the fault is resolved.’. However, Microsoft itself reports no problems!?? I even tried a different browser…same message.’

Downdetector’s outage map shows that the problems are largely along the east coast, likely due to residents coming into the office.

While there are some issues in Los Angeles and Phoenix, these locations have hours before their workday starts.
