How to solve the Fountain of Confession puzzles in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
You reach the Fountain of Confession in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle as you progress through the adventure ‘The Stolen Cat Mummy’. Once you reach the fountain you have to solve a puzzle to open a secret door and then solve even more puzzles to get inside.
The first puzzle involves three dragon statues at the Fountain of Confession itself. Once you’ve solved that, you’ll have to solve a baptism-themed statue puzzle. And finally, there’s an Ark of the Bullrushes-themed rotating ring puzzle.
Us Indiana Jones and the Great Circle The guide shows you how to solve the Fountain of Confession puzzle, the baptismal statue puzzle and the Ark of the Rushes puzzle.
How to solve the fountain puzzle
After solving the Sacred Wounds puzzle and exploring the Tomb of the Giant Warrior, you will find a parchment suggesting that there is a secret entrance to the Vatican’s Fountain of Confession.
When you get there, take a photo of the dragon statue in the center of the fountain and then photograph the inscriptions on the left and right. Indy will translate them as: ‘let the dragons face each other’. Now you just have to find the dragons.
Go to the left side of the fountain and find a chest on the ground. Open it to get the Fountain gate key and then use it on the fence on your right.
Inside, whip your way up to the first landing above you. Turn around and swing against the beam. Hold the left trigger, climb up Indy’s whip a bit, then swing toward the window.
You will then end up on top of the jetty and you can see the two dragons with the inscriptions. Ignore them for now, though.
Instead, turn to the right and look down along the jetty. You will see an item below you. Go there to get the Dragonclaw. At this point Gina will appear.
When Gina startled Indy, he broke some planks on the dock. Now you can climb up the outside. Do so and climb to the first dragon statue, the one to the left of the fountain.
At the front, equip the Dragon Claw and place it in the statue. Turn it and a lever will appear. Use the lever to rotate the entire statue until it points to the other dragon statue on the other side.
Use the flagpole to wave to the other dragon. Repeat the process – rotate the claw and then use the lever to rotate the statue – to make this dragon face the other.
Drop back to the ground and jump into the fountain. There, knock on the handle of the dragon statue and pull it to open the secret door.
How to solve the baptism puzzle
After the fountain finishes spinning, a new lever will appear on the outside. Jump down and spin it with Gina.
This brings a new baptism-themed puzzle to the fore.
To solve it, you need to splash water from the right side to the statue on the left. The steps are:
- Move the left statue (the baptized?) at the right
- Whip jerk the ring to pour the water
- Move the right statue (the baptist?) to the left
As you move the right statue, it rotates and dumps water.
Once the puzzle is complete, the handle will reappear on the outside of the fountain. Jump down and spin it again.
How to solve the Ark of Cattails puzzle
The other puzzle has a boat theme – the Ark of the Catsdead – and you have to spin a few rings to clear the path for the boat.
The tricky part is that there are wooden blocks that can slide and lock the rings together. To solve it:
- Turn the outer ring three times counterclockwise (to the left)
- Turn the middle ring once clockwise (to the right)
- Turn the inner ring twice in both directions.
Once the puzzle rotates back to the starting point, all you have to do is push the remaining image straight forward. When it clicks into place, a staircase will appear leading to the underworld.
