I know the real reason Pamela Anderson still titillates men and women alike… and it has nothing to do with her ‘no makeup’ bravery, writes JESSICA SATHERLEY

Hasn’t Pammy suffered enough?

Baywatch icon Pamela Anderson has bravely opened up about being abused by her nanny, raped by a 25-year-old man at age 12, and sexually assaulted by her high school boyfriends and his friends before she turned 18.

When her infamous ’90s sex tape with Tommy Lee was stolen from their home, she did everything she could to get it back. Her attempts were unsuccessful and she said it “ruined” her life and relationship.

Anderson, now 57, is a self-made woman. She continues to thrive despite her traumatic life experiences – all with a beautiful smile on her face. She is an inspiration to women and girls who have fought the same battles. That’s why I took issue with Paula Froelich’s recent piece for the Mail criticizing Pamela’s ‘no-make-up’ new look.

‘Sorry, Pim. You are not saving the Amazon,” Froelich wrote. “Let’s put on some cleanser, okay? This ‘natural beauty revolution’ is about as organic as 34DDs.”

It is not surprising that Pam often shows off a fresh face in addition to her ‘bouncing bosom’. Why wouldn’t she take advantage of her glamor and show off her beauty with or without makeup?

“I have an idea of what is really going on here,” Froleich wrote. “Anderson, like almost every other fading Hollywood hottie, from perpetually swollen-faced Nicole Kidman to navel-scarred Cindy Crawford, has a skincare line to beat.”

Anderson is the co-founder and owner of Sonsie Skin – a vegan and cruelty-free skincare brand. And good for her! I say: if you have it, show it.

As Pammy approaches her 60s, she still looks fantastic whether in full make-up (as in her latest film role in ‘The Last Showgirl’) or by nature. And why not use that brazen courage to promote her light-hearted beauty brand?

Wouldn’t you welcome a world where women had the choice to wear less makeup? Isn’t the unspoken pressure to at least brush on some mascara before leaving the house a real burden?

By breaking that outdated expectation, Pammy is doing wonders for regular women who want to get out without piling on their faces.

As for Froelich’s reference to the star as a “Double D-lister,” Anderson is actually the exact opposite. Baywatch catapulted the blonde bombshell to worldwide fame and she remains one of the most recognized A-listers of her generation.

Yes, she’s had some movie flops, but so what? That includes Kevin Costner and Robert De Niro!

Anderson remains an undeniable star who continues to be cast by Hollywood, has a hit Netflix documentary and a biographical TV drama miniseries about her marriage to Tommy.

As for slamming her for cosmetic changes, women these days don’t need fame or all the money in the world for a little pump and plump. Injectables have been the standard for years.

A session of Botox will cost you a few hundred dollars.

Even without makeup, Pamela still manages to captivate, just as she amazed us in the 90s.

The reason women, and men, love her is because she is unapologetically true to herself.

It’s time to stop choosing women who embrace their beauty, even if they’ve had a few enhancements along the way. Let’s lift them up instead of pushing them down.

That would be real feminism.
