Harrowing footage shows a tourist being hit by a wave and swept off the rocks at a Thai beauty spot after sitting on her yoga mat, despite the water crashing over her just seconds before.

Harrowing new footage shows the moment an aspiring actress was washed off a cliff into the sea by a giant wave in Thailand.

Tourist Kamilla Belyatskaya, 24, was sitting on her yoga mat when she was overwhelmed by the force of the raging sea.

Grainy videos showed the Russian woman being thrown from her favorite rock, a beauty spot on the island of Koh Samui, just two weeks before her planned wedding.

She was also seen struggling and floundering in the frothy seas in the Gulf of Thailand, but drowned before she could be rescued.

Her body washed up two-thirds of a mile from where she was lost.

Kamilla had previously posted what a special place this was for her, calling it “home” and “the best place on earth.”

Her heartbroken fiancé Grigorii Anokhin said the couple would marry in Russia in mid-December.

“On the day of the accident, my friend said she was going to play tennis, but I didn’t know she was coming over to relax at Lad Koh view point,” he said.

‘I only found out what had happened through social media. I was devastated and immediately went to the area to help look for her.”

Vacationers gathered at the site and watched helplessly as the sea washed away Kamilla Belyatskaya

The couple had been together for five years and planned to get married in Russia this month.

“We had already taken pre-wedding photos in the hope of living together when we returned to Russia,” he said.

A foreign man reportedly went into the waves to rescue her, but without success. His fate is unknown.

Police have issued a strong warning to tourists about crashing waves and rising currents following her tragic loss.

Since then, new footage of the tragedy has emerged showing tourists gathering in the area and helplessly watching Kamilla being carried away by the waves.

Standing behind the safety of a sea wall as the waves crash, a woman is seen extending her arm as the young woman was swept out to sea by the raging waters.

Nearby, a man covers his face in apparent horror at what has happened, while another holidaymaker films the shocking events.

“I love Samui so much,” she says in the tragic video. ‘But this place, this rocky beach is the best thing I have ever seen in my life.

“Thank you, universe, for having me here now. I’m very happy. I’m happy!’

She had gone to the Lad Ko viewpoint to watch the waves, and was seen arriving nearby in a red car before apparently heading to the rocks alone.

She grabbed a pink foam mat from the trunk of her car before walking to the beautiful spot that offers panoramic views of the island.

The mat was later seen floating in the violent seas off Koh Samui, one of Thailand’s most popular islands.

Rescue teams were hampered by the rough seas and although they arrived just 15 minutes after she was swept into the sea, they could do nothing to save the tourist.

Her boyfriend and eyewitnesses gave statements to local police about the tragedy.

“The incident is a stark reminder of the dangers posed by monsoon conditions, with authorities urging visitors to exercise extreme caution and avoid rocky coastal areas during periods of high waves,” a Thai report said.

Thailand is becoming increasingly popular among Russian tourists, including men trying to avoid being forced to take part in Vladimir Putin’s war against Ukraine.

About 1.48 million people visited Thailand last year.

Chaiyaporn Subprasert, head of the Samui Rescue Center, said warning systems were in place on the island’s beaches.

‘During the monsoon season, we continuously warn tourists, especially in high-risk areas such as Chaweng and Lamai beaches, where red flags indicate no swimming.

‘Although the incident location is not a swimming area, but rather a scenic viewpoint, the victim may have been caught off guard by the unexpected wave action.’
