Serena Williams DENIES claims she’s bleaching her skin after viral video sparked debate
Serena Williams has denied claims that she bleaches her skin, following a recent one viral video led to speculation among fans.
The tennis superstar, 43, put the rumors to rest during a InstagramLive on Monday, as she walked her fans through her makeup routine.
“And no, for you haters out there, I don’t bleach my skin,” she said.
“There is such a thing as sunlight and in that sunlight you get different colors,” Serena added.
The athlete said that in the recent video of her that sparked skin bleaching rumors, she wore “stage makeup” as she volunteered to help children in her daughter Olympia’s school play, six years old .

The bleach rumors started after she recently shared a video of her and husband Alexis Ohanian, 40, volunteering for their daughter Olympia, six,’s school play.
“And if people do it, that’s their thing, and they have every opportunity, and they should, I don’t judge,” she continued.
Serena then doubled down, adding, “But no, I didn’t actually bleach my skin. Can we just clear that up?’
Later in the video, she referenced the gold wallpaper in her bathroom, saying it works better with the light and “gives me more of my true color.” The color I’ve never bleached.’
The star recently shared a video of her and husband Alexis Ohanian, 40, with whom she also shares daughter Adira, volunteering for the Olympia school play.
It led to a number of comments about the tone of her skin looking lighter than normal.
