Big Brother winner Reggie Bird reveals why she feels like a failure despite winning show TWICE
Reggie Bird has opened up about feeling like a failure despite winning Big Brother twice.
The beloved reality TV star, 50, made the comments when she appeared on the latest Mental As Everyone podcast.
Speaking to host Jonathan Moran, the mother-of-two revealed that despite winning the reality competition (once in 2003 and a second time in 2022), she cannot get a job.
Reggie, who is legally blind but still has some vision, said, “I feel like a bit of a failure.”
The TV personality wondered out loud why no employer wanted to give her a chance.
‘I’m starting to think: why doesn’t anyone want to give me a job? I want to work and that makes you feel like… no one wants you.”

“I can answer phones, you know, I’m good at talking to people,” said Reggie, who figured that even though she has a disability, she can still be useful.
Bird is legally blind after being diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa, a rare degenerative eye disease that causes severe vision disturbances.
‘I’m limited in what I can do because my eyes are so full. I now have nine degrees of pinhole vision, no peripheral vision and no night vision anymore.

“I only see what’s in front of me, it’s like looking through a straw, that’s how I explain it to people,” she explained.
Reggie made history when she became the first reality star to win Big Brother twice, first in 2003 and again in 2022.
Despite taking home $250,000 in prize money during the 2003 and 2022 seasons of Big Brother, the TV personality has struggled financially over the years.
Reggie also suffers from Usher Syndrome, a rare genetic disease that affects both hearing and vision.
She previously hit back at her critics who doubted her poor health in an interview with TV Week.
“A lot of people say, ‘Oh, she’s faking it.’ Who would want to pretend to be blind?’ she told the publication.
The former fish and chip shop manager, who says her view now is like looking through straws, added: ‘They don’t know me or the challenges I face every day.
“I think people who leave comments like that have problems.”
When Reggie won the celebrity edition of the show in 2022, Reggie said the prize money would go towards paying rent to ensure she and her children had stable accommodation.
