Janelle Monae set social media feeds on edge as she celebrated her 39th birthday.

On Sunday, the I Like That hitmaker – who regularly models skimpy ensembles – got to work Instagram kick off the festivities by sharing a very evocative video of herself enjoying a tropical getaway.

She showed off her toned stomach and ample bust in a barely there cow print string bikini as she seductively caressed her curves and frolicked on the beach.

The style expert caused a storm at a lifeguard station, covering her private areas in a raunchy manner that left little to the imagination.

And she enjoyed time at a hut bar, looking like magazine cover material as she sipped a foreign bottle of beer.

“Ah, it’s my birthday,” the Hidden Figures actress wrote in the caption.

Monae added a makeup-free clip of herself soaking in an outdoor shower and playfully styling her short locks into a Mohawk.

The Kansas native’s birthday post was a hit with her 5.4 million fans, with thousands of likes and hundreds of comments wishing the star well.

Earlier this year, the ten-time Grammy nominee opened up about her personal fashion sense and who her style icons are.

“12monkeys,” she revealed. ‘I think maybe my style icons are the different versions of myself: I live in different spheres, so the version of me that lives in 1960, 2719 or 2805.

‘I think about the magazines that existed at that time and draw inspiration from them. I get pulled down a lot of rabbit holes and into uncovering the universe.”

She also previously explained that tuxedos are part of her signature style.

Monae said of the look: “I bathe in it, I swim in it and I could be buried in it. A tuxedo is such a standard uniform, it’s so stylish and it’s a lifestyle I enjoy. The tuxedo keeps me balanced.

‘I see myself as a canvas. I don’t want to cloud myself with too many colors or I’ll go crazy. It’s an experiment I’m doing. I think I want to be in the Guinness Book of World Records.”

The self-described “queer” singer began her musical career in 2003 with the release of her debut album, The Audition.

In 2007, she signed with Bad Boy Records to release her EP Metropolis: Suite I (The Chase).
