Fans claim viral clip of transgender volleyball star proves why San Jose State ‘should have been forced to forfeit’
A clip of transgender volleyball player Blaire Fleming warming up for Saturday night’s Mountain West Championship final has gone viral, with fans claiming San Jose State should have forfeited the match.
Fleming and the team went on to lose to Colorado State in the Las Vegas showpiece, but this didn’t stop X-users from commenting on her skills after watching the clip.
The short seven-second video, posted by reporter Dan Zaksheske, shows Fleming approaching the net before jumping high and playing a vicious kill shot to her opponent.
The clip quickly racked up nearly 300,000 views, with many users eager to voice their feelings about Fleming, who has had a controversial few weeks in the spotlight.
“This is disgusting,” one fan wrote, while another added, “The way she jumps into it easily [sic] is dirty work. This cannot be allowed.”
Another commented: ‘Luckily they lost, but that guy can jump AT LEAST 20 inches more than the women he’s playing with.’

Fleming, who stands 6 feet tall, was born on an Air Force base in Nebraska in 2002 and multiple media reports claim she didn’t begin identifying as transgender until April 2024 with her teammates.
Her presence on the San Jose State team has led to multiple opponents forfeiting matches due to safety concerns, with Louisiana Tech claiming after the confrontation with Fleming that they were unaware their opponents had a biological male on the team.
In recent weeks, even President-elect Donald Trump has spoken out about Fleming, citing a video that showed her spearing a ball at a rival player.

Even President-elect Donald Trump weighed in on Fleming after seeing a video online
‘I saw the blow, it was a blow. “I’ve never seen a ball hit that hard and hit the girl in the head,” Trump said. “But other people, even in volleyball, have been permanently, I mean, they’ve been hurt really badly. Women play men. But you don’t have to play volleyball.
‘We’ll stop doing it. We stop it. We will absolutely stop doing it. You can’t have it.’
San Jose State was defeated by Colorado State 27-25, 25-20, 23-25, 25-16 in Saturday’s all-important final.
It means Fleming has now played college volleyball for the very last time, with the Rams instead receiving the conference’s automatic bid to the 64-team NCAA tournament.
