Manchester United fans greeted Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford with a large banner welcoming him in Portuguese.
Supporters on the Stretford side unfurled a banner in red, white and black on Thursday evening that read ‘Welcome home Ruben’.
Amorim took charge of his first home match against Norwegian champions Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League and won 3-2 after drawing his debut Premier League match 1-1 at Ipswich on Sunday.
It took just minutes for the United faithful to sing his name at Portman Road and they ensured the Sporting Lisbon import was warmly welcomed to his new home.
They were rewarded inside 50 seconds when Alejandro Garnacho poked into an empty net after Rasmus Hojlund had forced goalkeeper Nikita Khaikin into a disastrous mistake.
Amorim had said in his first interview with the Red Devils that he felt ‘at home’ and aims to bring ‘titles’ back to M16.

Alejandro Garnacho took advantage of a mistake to score in the first minute of the Europa League match
Determined to be the party poopers, Bodo/Glimt stunned the hosts when they took the lead in the first half with a four-minute volley of goals from Hakon Evjen and Philip Zinckernagel.
But Rasmus Hojlund equalized on the stroke of half-time and added a second five minutes after the break to give United a 3-2 lead.
That was his third brace at the club after joining for £72m and proved enough to give Amorim his first win and propel United up the Europa League table.
Bodo/Glimt were presented with a late free-kick from close range following a yellow card from Casemiro, but Andre Onana produced a feline save to deny Patrick Berg a dream equaliser.
