Helen Flanagan reveals she’d ‘absolutely love’ to return to Coronation Street after a six-year break – but there’s one big problem with her soap comeback
Helen Flanagan has revealed she would like to return to Coronation Street, before laying out the main reason why she hasn’t done so yet.
The actress rose to fame on the soap as Rosie Webster, which she originally played from 2000 to 2012.
Helen returned to the cobbles in 2016 after a four-year break, before leaving again two years later to give birth to her second daughter Delilah. Although she has yet to return, she has become a star on Celebs Go Dating and I’m A Celebrity All Stars.
Helen has now revealed that she would ‘really love’ to return to the soap, but would like to be ‘asked back’ by ITV and have a ‘good storyline’.
She told me The sun: ‘I would love to go back to Coronation Street. I live now where I grew up and I’ve moved around so much, you know, with my ex, football and stuff, so I’m back.

‘But to do Coronation Street they would have to ask me back. And if I were to go back and stuff, I’d want to be in a good storyline and stuff.”
The actress appeared on the soap for more than twenty years after being cast in her role as Rosie Webster at the age of ten.
In 2023, Helen told MailOnline that she really wanted to return, saying: ‘Yes, totally. I mean, I’d love to go back to Coronation Street at some point.
“Like, I really, really, really would. But it’s just timing, you know, everything revolves around my kids.”
She added: “I really want Rosie to come back as a mother. I want to go back and cause some chaos.”
“All along I wanted to give Sally a hand with her grandchild and yes, I want her to come back.”
Helen’s biggest storyline was when she had a controversial affair with teacher John Stape, who was dating Fiz at the time.
Even though Rosie wasn’t one of John’s students, he still crossed the line by dating the schoolgirl, and it inevitably ended in tears and shame.

Helen shares three children Matilda, nine, Delilah, six, and Charlie, three, with ex-fiancé Scott Sinclair who she split from in 2022 after 13 years together, four of which they were engaged.
Their secret relationship was exposed on Christmas Day in chaotic scenes that left Fiz devastated.
But her association with John didn’t end there. The evil teacher couldn’t bear to see Rosie move on with her next partner, Saj, and kidnapped her in a jealous rage.
He kept her locked in the attic of his grandmother’s farm, but luckily Fiz eventually found her and the police were notified.
John was sentenced to two years in prison, but that still didn’t stop him from reuniting with Fiz after his release.
It comes after Helen looked every bit the doting mother as she posed with her two children at The Paddington Bear Experience at London County Hall on Sunday.
The former soap star, who shares Matilda, nine, Delilah, six, and Charlie, three, with ex-fiancé Scott Sinclair, looked festive as she enjoyed a family day out.
She lifted her youngest onto her hip as she held Delilah close to her as they wore Paddington ear headbands.
For the outing, Helen looked festive in a red ribbed corduroy skate dress, which she teamed with black tights and black Adidas sneakers.
For accessories, she kept it simple with a black chain bag and a simple gold chain.
The multi-sensory interactive adventure features Christmas decorations in multiple themed rooms, inspired by the Paddington stories.
