Keira Knightley has branded the iconic declaration of love scene in Love Actually ‘creepy and sweet’ – 21 years after the film’s release.
The actress, 39, played the role of Juliet in the film where, in a memorable scene, her new husband’s best friend declares his love for her while pretending to be a Christmas caroling group.
Character Mark, played by Andrew Lincoln, turns up unannounced at her London home and holds up a series of signs saying how much he loves her – while her boyfriend Peter sits upstairs.
Reflecting on the moment, she said on the Graham Norton show this week: ‘I was stuck in traffic for ages recently and a car full of construction workers next to me started holding up the signs, like in the movies.
“It was creepy and sweet at the same time, just like in the movie!”
In 2018, Keira admitted that she has only seen Love Actually once since its theatrical release in 2003 and that she doesn’t really remember who her character ends up with.

In a video interview with Wired alongside Mackenzie Foy, the star seemed perplexed as she asked, “Who do I end up with?”
Keira was asked in the video: ‘Who does Keira Knightley actually end up with in Love?’
The star seemed confused as she turned to her The Nutcracker and the Four Realms co-star and asked, “I’m with my man, aren’t I?” Am I not at Chiwetel Ejiofor?
‘I’ve only seen it once, and that was a long time ago. So I’m not going with Andrew Lincoln?’ she asked.
In the original film, Keira’s character is convinced that her husband’s boyfriend, Mark, [Lincoln]can’t stand her.
Until she discovers a video of her wedding to Peter [Ejiofor] that he created and can only be seen on her.
Later he shows up at her house with the cards and tells her, “You’re perfect for me.”
They then kiss and he says, “Enough now, that’s enough now,” as he leaves her to move on with married life.
Love Actually follows the lives of eight very different couples as they navigate their love lives in several loosely connected stories, all set during a hectic month before Christmas in London.

Keira spoke to the publication to promote her new series Black Doves.
Last month, Black Doves released the first trailer for the upcoming Netflix series, which stars Keira and Sarah Lancashire as a spy and espionage master.
