Angel Reese hits back at troll who criticized her shooting during rookie WNBA season
Chicago Sky star Angel Reese went out of her way to clap back at an X-user with less than 300 followers after she was mocked for missing layups.
After a season in which she performed well – just missing Rookie of the Year to Caitlin Clark – Reese was criticized during her debut campaign as a professional.
That continues until now, when a random account with 260 followers at the time of publication decided to respond to a tweet from Reese.
Instead of letting the comment from the stranger – named Adam – go, Reese decided to quote the tweet message with a response of his own.
Reese said, “Do you realize I was drafted 7th in my class while ‘missing layups’ as a ROOKIE who shot 39% on the year and STILL a [sic] all star and that was the worst you will ever see me??? Or did you just lay at home with your dog and hate Adam??’
That drew mixed reactions in her mentions – with some celebrating her and others mocking her passionate defense of her poor shooting line.
Angel Reese clapped back at some haters on social media who criticized her shooting
‘[Angel Reese] = leader + competitor + great teammate…scary her best is yet to come!” wrote one fan.
But opponents also responded: ‘I’m really trying not to hate at all, but 39% as a post player is absurd work.’
Reese came out of college at LSU with plenty to work on in the WNBA, but she quickly became one of the best rebounders in the league.
She finished the season as the W’s leader in rebounds and averaged a double-double despite her shooting struggles.
Reese also became the first player in league history with three consecutive 20-plus rebound games.
But her season ended prematurely when she went down with a wrist injury with only a few games left in the campaign.
But Reese looks healed and ready to compete in the unprecedented 3×3 basketball league, where she was drafted to Rose BC.
