I’m A Celeb star Maura Higgins looks completely recognisable as a ring girl as her life before fame is revealed

She’s proving to be a fan favorite in the jungle after arriving as a late entry to I’m A Celeb last week.

However, before Maura Higgins found fame as a reality star, she had a career as a ring girl before joining the Love Island villa in 2019.

In the snap, the star showed off her slim physique as she put on a busty display in a plunging black sports bra and matching leggings.

She has worked with promoters including Bellator for both boxing and MMA fights, appearing at Anthony Joshua’s world title defense against Carlos Takam in October 2017.

And the star isn’t the only Love Islander to start her career there with former Islanders Coco Lodge and Olivia Hawkins all previously spending time in the ring.

During Tuesday’s episode, the Irish star, 34, referenced her ring girl past as her campmate Barry McGuigan cracked apart a crab for dinner.

As the boxing legend grabbed a rock and freed the meat from the shell in one swift blow, Maura joked: ‘Round one knockout’.

Maura practiced her previous moves and then paraded around the fire with her hands in the air as she continued, “Round three, Barry McGuigan vs Crab.”

Maura rose to fame after making it to the final of the ITV dating show and is often regarded as one of the most iconic ‘bombshells’ of all time, thanks to her excessive flirting and attempts to steal Tommy Fury away from Molly Mae Haag.

Since the show she has also enjoyed a stint on Dancing On Ice, and she is also trying to crack the US by acting as the social ambassador of Love Island USA, and the host of the spin-off show Aftersun.

The Irish beauty has a reported net worth of £3.2 million and has worked with her brands including Mermade Hair, Youth To The People, Mars The Label, Cosmetips and Ann Summers, who she continues to work on on a £150,000-a-year deal.

Maura is also the sole director of a media company The Flutter Effect Ltd, which made a profit of £152,000 in 2022, according to the latest accounts.

Companies are said to be ‘lining up to work with her’ as she prepares for a huge payday when she returns from her adventure.

Maura is said to be ‘excited’ about new opportunities following her jungle jaunt, with a source saying brands including MAC, Calvin Klein and Hugo Boss have been in touch.

A photo taken eight years before her arrival on the show showed Maura, then 21 years old, looking very different from her current appearance.

Maura looked equally stunning as she showed off her toned figure in a purple bikini as she posed against a white background.

She wore a full face of makeup and her glossy brunette locks were styled in tumbling curls.

Maura, who posed by pulling on her bikini bottoms, also wore a collection of colorful bracelets.

The former ring girl spoke about cosmetic work done following her appearance on the ITV2 reality dating show in 2021.

She said: ‘I had my lips done three months after coming out of Love Island and lip fillers last five to six months. I haven’t done anything since; I just let it resolve.

“But people still assume I got Botox done on my lips. People even say I had my nose done, even though I actually had no work.’

She explained, “I’ve had braces for a long time, and since my teeth shifted, they’ve actually pushed my lips out a little bit. I feel like I don’t need it. If I were to get my lips done now with my straight teeth, it just wouldn’t be a pretty sight.’

Earlier this week, Maura stripped down to her birthday suit as she celebrated her 34th birthday with a chilly jungle shower.

The reality star braved the cold water to kick off her birthday in the jungle during Monday’s episode.

Maura had her own iconic jungle shower moment when she stripped down to a tiny black triangle bikini, complete with floral accessories.

“It’s horrible, isn’t it?” GK said to Maura in support as she screamed from the cold temperatures.

The TikToker was later heard saying, “I can’t imagine a worse place to spend your birthday, bless her.” Maybe we’ll all get a piece of birthday cake for her 24th? It’s a milestone.’

“Happy birthday,” Jane says in the morning as she hugs Maura. ‘What a strange birthday to have.

Maura later reflected, “Birthday in the jungle! This will definitely be one I will never, ever forget.”

In the meantime, Tulisa decided to sleep in. That is, until the camp decided to wake her up to the sound of musical theater.

Dean said, “Now that she’s out of the Leaders’ Lodge, Tulisa has warned me that there should be no musical theater early in the morning, so I made it my mission to make sure the camp woke up this morning to the sound of lovely music. sing!’

After receiving updated assignments from new leaders Barry and Danny, the campmates began completing their chores for the day.

This meant that birthday girl Maura was given the task of cleaning the dunny with Coleen. Not a usual birthday experience, but one she certainly wouldn’t forget.

Ahead of her arrival in the jungle, Maura admitted to MailOnline that she ‘didn’t think much about jumping in the jungle shower’, made famous by Myleene Klass’ white bikini moment in 2006.

She teased that it could be more chaos than sexy, joking: “I mean, I’d probably fall over and break my leg.” That’s probably what happened to me.

“I packed my bikinis, but I didn’t really think about it. I’m a little concerned that the water is ice cold.

“I hate cold water, so I could be the girl who doesn’t shower all the time.”
